How tuition works at the University of Turin

At the University of Turin, tuition follows family income, measured by the ISEE, and an ISEE of €26,000 or less falls in the no-tax area. Families abroad pay by their country's GDP band instead, and study can be tuition-free for eligible students who win an EDISU Piemonte scholarship.

Without an ISEE or a GDP-band reduction by 26 February 2027, the maximum applies. English-taught Business & Management adds its own contribution, set by ISEE band, so we work out this surcharge for your file.

Source: Regolamento Tasse e Contributi a.a. 2026-2027 and the tuition fees page for international students.

Students with family abroad cannot file an Italian ISEE, and the ISEE parificato no longer lowers the 2026/27 contribution, so their country's GDP band applies. For students living abroad it applies when MyUniTo shows the right country by 20 November 2026, or by 26 February 2027 with a late penalty. Source: Turin, contribution for international students.

Worked example: If India sits in the lowest GDP band of Annex A, up to €26,000 per person, a first-year bachelor's student from India pays the lowest band for families abroad. Turin no longer uses the ISEE parificato to set this fee, so this band, not the maximum, is the route we set up for you. We prepare the documents with you and file them with the university, and we prepare the EDISU Piemonte application with you, since EDISU takes it only from the student.

For the study visa, the consulate asks you to show at least €10,179.85 (₹11.2 lakh) a year for living costs in Turin or any other Italian city. That is a floor, not a full budget: rent is the biggest cost, and a DSU residence place is much cheaper than a private room.

Reality check

  • Places are limited on some English-taught degrees. Business & Management and Economics and Finance with Data Science rank SAT scores, and English-taught Medicine has 32 places for non-EU applicants.
  • Deadlines come early. For 2026/27, master's applications closed on 29 January 2026 and bachelor's on 15 April, months before the July Universitaly deadline.
  • Details decide the fee. The ISEE parificato is no longer used for the fee, and the GDP band applies only if the right country is on file by 26 February 2027; otherwise the maximum applies.
  • Italian still matters. Daily life, internships and Italian-taught courses need it; Italian-taught degrees ask applicants abroad for B2.

What we handle: the shortlist, the fee route, the income documents, the programme applications, the Universitaly pre-enrolment, the visa file and the EDISU Piemonte application, prepared with you. The university decides admission, the region decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

How does ApplyAZ handle applications to the University of Turin?

For eligible students, we take care of the whole application to the University of Turin. We shortlist programmes against your profile and their entry tests, prepare the documents and the family's income papers, file each programme application, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, handle the visa file and prepare the EDISU Piemonte application with you.

We work only with Italian public universities, and we do not promise outcomes: the university decides admission, the region decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

Frequently asked questions

Is the University of Turin a public university?

Yes. The University of Turin is a state university on the Ministry of University and Research's list of 61 public universities, founded in 1404 by a papal bull. Its fees follow family income or the home country's GDP, and it had 79,122 students in 2024/25, 3,958 of them international.

How does tuition work at the University of Turin?

Tuition at the University of Turin follows family income, measured by the ISEE, and an ISEE up to €26,000 falls in the no-tax area. Students with family abroad pay by their country's GDP band instead. EDISU Piemonte scholarship winners pay no tuition, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students.

Can study at the University of Turin be tuition-free for eligible students?

Yes. EDISU Piemonte scholarship winners have the first instalment refunded and pay no later instalments, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students. The 2026/27 family limits are an ISEE of €26,306.25 and an ISPE of €57,187.53, and the grant for a student living away from home reaches €8,096.78 (₹8.9 lakh) a year.

Which tuition route suits a student from India at the University of Turin?

Turin no longer uses the ISEE parificato for this fee, so a student from India with family abroad pays by India's GDP band in Annex A. If India is in the lowest band, up to €26,000 per person, a first-year bachelor's student pays the lowest band for families abroad. We handle the fee route and prepare the EDISU application with you.

How many programmes does the University of Turin teach in English?

We list 27 English-taught programmes at the University of Turin for the next intake: 3 bachelor's, 23 master's and a single-cycle degree in Medicine and Surgery. Most master's degrees check requirements, sometimes with an interview. We match each programme to its test and handle the registration.

How many IMAT places does the University of Turin have?

For 2026/27 the University of Turin has 32 places for non-EU applicants living abroad on its English-taught Medicine and Surgery course at Orbassano, set in Table B of MUR Decree 1005.
