Artificial Intelligence and High Performance Computing Technologies is an English-taught master’s with curricular and personal-preparation assessment. The current international listing and 2026/27 departmental procedures are summarised separately. Sources were reviewed on 6 October 2026.

Degree grade, 48 computing credits and 18 mathematics credits

The programme requires an L-31 computer science bachelor’s degree or another recognised first-cycle award after at least three university years. The international listing requires a final grade at least 7/10 of the maximum possible grade. It lists 50 places for non-European applicants residing abroad. [1]

In addition, at least 48 CFU/ECTS must be in INFO-01/A computer science and/or IINF-05/A computer engineering, and at least 18 CFU/ECTS in mathematics. Foreign-course equivalence is determined from actual subject content and official syllabi/documentation. These are two separate subject-credit minimums; a related degree title does not remove either one. Curricular eligibility is necessary but not sufficient for admission. [1, 2]

• Demonstrate university-level programming across the principal paradigms and languages; computer architecture and operating systems; networks and cybersecurity; databases and knowledge representation; algorithms and data structures; formal languages and compilers; and discrete and continuous mathematics. All seven areas are listed as necessary preparation. [1, 2]
• Provide the full transcript, credit/workload information and official course descriptions when needed to establish the computing and mathematical allocations. The formal foreign-degree check precedes the appointed committee’s academic suitability assessment. [1, 2, 4]

Oral examination and the possible high-grade exemption

Personal preparation is assessed through an oral examination covering the listed computing/mathematics areas. The international listing says candidates may be exempted when their degree mark is at least 95% of the maximum. It does not promise automatic admission at that grade, nor waive required subject credits or English. [1]

The domestic How to Apply page additionally describes possible exemption for already qualified candidates with the required course credits and language certificate. Foreign-degree applicants should follow the international listing and their committee invitation; do not combine separate domestic and international exemption descriptions into one automatic waiver. English B2 and programme-specific component minimums

The listing requires B2 and a recognised certificate obtained no more than three years before application. It lists Cambridge CPE or CAE; Cambridge FCE at least 173/Grade B; PTE Academic at least 65; IELTS at least 6 overall and no component below 6; and Trinity ISE II. The published IELTS component minimum is part of the condition, so an overall 6 alone is insufficient if a component is lower. [1]

The same listing states that, when none of those certificates is provided, English is assessed during the oral examination. Arrange that route through the committee and application checklist; a potential academic interview exemption does not itself establish language proficiency. The reviewed list does not print a TOEFL minimum for this programme. [1]

2026/27 domestic assessment windows and pending requirements

Domestic curricular-review applications use MyUniTo and run 11 May at 09:00–9 June at 15:00; 13 July at 09:00–3 September at 15:00; and 1 October at 09:00–12 November at 15:00. The corresponding interview periods are 29 June–10 July, 21 September–2 October and 23 November–4 December. Candidates receive invitations by email. Foreign-degree applicants are explicitly directed to Apply@UniTo and its separate central windows. [7]

The domestic checklist includes degree/enrolment self-certification with passed examinations; course syllabi unless the first degree is Turin Computer Science; and available English certification. Students who do not graduate by 14 January 2027 cannot enrol for 2026/27. The committee may assess their background and agree up to 30 ECTS of single-course study for later recognition; this is not admission without graduation or an extension of the foreign application call. Recognition and the complete foreign-qualification file

The university requires a first-cycle or integrated qualification at the relevant EQF/EHEA/ISCED level 6, obtained after at least 15 total years of education, and assesses recognition/accreditation, qualification level, duration, academic rights and document authenticity. Submit the first-cycle or integrated award and any intermediate qualification used to reach it; a master’s or doctorate alone does not replace the entry qualification. Curricular suitability for this programme remains a separate condition. [3, 4]

Prepare the qualifying degree and a full transcript recording all examinations, grades, study hours and/or credits, with all informative pages and reverse sides; a CV; and a motivation letter in English or Italian. Include programme-specific language, subject and assessment evidence. An official international-model Diploma Supplement can replace degree/transcript documents only if it includes complete records, is signed/sealed and carries required authenticity evidence. [1, 4]

Provide valid identity evidence: an ID for eligible Italian/EU/equivalent applicants, or a passport for non-EU applicants. Non-EU residents in Italy need the applicable permit allowing university enrolment. Documents are accepted in Italian, English, French or Spanish; otherwise include both originals and certified translations into an accepted language. Unsigned or unstamped/unsealed documents and incomplete applications are not accepted. [4]

If graduating later, upload the official last-year enrolment certificate identifying the study path and expected qualification, plus an official transcript/score report for completed semesters. The final qualifying award is necessary for enrolment. Detailed syllabi, the grading scale and a Declaration of Value/CIMEA Comparability are useful and can become mandatory if the office or programme requests them. [4]

2026/27 international calls and application fee

Foreign qualifications normally require an Apply@UniTo application, regardless of citizenship, except the university’s explicitly exempt categories. The fee is €60 and permits selection of up to two programmes. Use the programme’s checklist as well as the central document requirements. [3, 4]

For 2026/27, the principal postgraduate application window was 25 November 2025–29 January 2026. The second open-access postgraduate call was 25 August–8 September 2026 and restricted to Italians, EU/equivalent applicants and non-EU citizens legally resident in Italy. Both windows have closed at the review date. The October window on the central page concerns undergraduate and five/six-year degrees, rather than these two-year master’s programmes. No confirmed 2027/28 calendar is provided in the reviewed sources. [3]

For non-EU visa applicants abroad, the published 2026/27 Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline was 15 July 2026 for this category of programme. Select the correct academic year, one programme and the competent diplomatic representation. University eligibility or Universitaly validation does not complete university enrolment or determine the embassy’s visa decision. [3]

Departmental admission, MyUniTo and final enrolment

This programme appears in the university’s open-access postgraduate procedures. After the required academic evaluation, follow the department’s own instructions and dates. The listed local preliminary route is type A: Pre-enrolment for courses with free admission. For a foreign qualification, this local procedure must be read together with the international application instructions; it does not create a replacement Apply deadline. [3, 6]

The ordinary 2026/27 MyUniTo enrolment window is 23 July 2026 at 09:30–14 January 2027 at 15:00 Italian time, subject to any earlier programme-specific deadline. Registration requires the academic clearance, valid identity document, suitable photograph and Italian tax-code details. International students cannot independently pay the first instalment: the International Students Office checks the request and emails payment instructions. [5, 6]

A later first-payment completion date of 31 March 2027 at 15:00 is available under the central policy only for students already admitted to a first year with open access who followed all required enrolment procedures on time but still lack documentation. This is not a new admission round or a universal extension of departmental requirements. [5]

For non-EU applicants abroad, final payment/enrolment requires the appropriate 2026/27 study visa, residence-permit application receipt, official Italian fiscal code and complete authenticated study documentation. Follow the current instructions for supplying the permit after issuance. Applicants in other categories supply their corresponding identity/residence and study records. [4, 5]

Authenticity evidence and final academic records

Final enrolment requires verification of the degree and transcript. Accepted methods depend on the issuing system and can include legalisation, an apostille, ENIC-NARIC verification or an accepted official digital service. The university specifies direct sharing procedures for electronic transcripts. Translation, comparability and authenticity are different checks; a translated document alone does not establish that it is authentic. [4]

The university can request additional qualification evidence or originals. Providing valid authenticity evidence at application can speed up final checks, but an optional CIMEA comparison document should not be described as mandatory for every initial application. Supply each document actually requested in your applicant file and meet the applicable dates. [4, 5]

What are the minimum grade and subject credits?

The international listing requires a recognised first-cycle award after at least three university years, grade at least 7/10 of the maximum, at least 48 CFU/ECTS in computer science/computer engineering and at least 18 in mathematics. The committee checks foreign-course content and personal preparation.

Is the oral examination always required?

It normally assesses personal preparation. The international listing allows possible exemption at a degree grade of at least 95% of the maximum. The committee decides; the exemption does not remove subject-credit or English requirements.

What IELTS score is needed?

At least 6 overall, with no component below 6. The programme’s listed alternatives include PTE Academic 65, Cambridge FCE 173/Grade B or CAE/CPE and Trinity ISE II. Certificates must be no more than three years old.

Can English be assessed without a certificate?

The international listing states that English will be assessed during the oral examination when none of the listed certificates is supplied. Follow the programme’s instructions for this route; a high-grade academic interview exemption is not an English waiver.

Can foreign degrees use the October domestic application window?

The departmental page expressly directs foreign-degree applicants to Apply@UniTo and its central windows. The October–November curricular-review window is the domestic procedure. It should not be treated as an extra international application round.

What if I cannot graduate by the enrolment deadline?

The domestic procedure says students not graduating by 14 January 2027 cannot enrol for 2026/27. A committee-agreed single-course route can cover up to 30 ECTS for later recognition, but does not waive graduation or reopen the international application call.
