How much does Politecnico di Torino cost in 2026/27?

Politecnico di Torino costs from €161 (₹18,000) a year with a family ISEE of €30,000 or less to €3,761 (₹4.1 lakh) at the top band in 2026/27. Non-EU households with income abroad pay by a GDP rule instead, while for families that file an ISEE, study can be tuition-free for eligible students in the €30,000 no-tax area.

Who pays what, 2026/27Yearly totalHow it is set
ISEE up to €30,000 (no-tax area)€161 (₹18,000)Contribution €0; only the fixed €161: regional tax €140, stamp duty €16 and accident insurance €5. Credit and course-length conditions apply, and a €300 (₹33,000) contribution is charged if they are not met
ISEE above €30,000 up to €100,000By formulaA formula sets the contribution, from about €600 at an ISEE of €30,000 to €3,600 at €100,000, plus €161. Example (derived): an ISEE of €50,000 pays about €1,411 (₹1.6 lakh)
Top band: ISEE above €100,000 or no ISEE€3,761 (₹4.1 lakh)€3,600 maximum contribution plus €161; 25% more beyond the normal length plus one year
Non-EU students with household income and assets abroad (GDP rule), India€922 (₹1.0 lakh)Set by the GDP per capita PPP of the country of citizenship: €600 to €3,600 plus €161, so €761 to €3,761 (₹84,000 to ₹4.1 lakh) in total; India: €761 plus €161

A household with income in Italy that files no ISEE pays the €3,761 (₹4.1 lakh) maximum. These rules cover bachelor's students who enrolled from 2025/26 and all master's students.

Source: Regolamento contribuzione studentesca a.a. 2026/2027 and the English regulation and its Annex 2 (2025/26 text, same GDP rule and India amount). Rupees use the FBIL reference rate of 21 September 2026, €1 = ₹109.90.

Non-EU students whose household has income and assets abroad pay by the GDP rule, with country amounts in Annex 2 of the regulation; an ISEE parificato does not set their fee. Non-EU students whose household has income in Italy file an ISEE and follow the bands above. Source: Politecnico di Torino, regulation 2026/27, article 2.

Worked example: A first-year student from India whose family income and assets are abroad pays €922 (₹1.0 lakh) in 2026/27: the €761 set for India in Annex 2 plus the fixed €161. No ISEE route lowers this fee, and an EDISU Piemonte scholarship does not replace it, although winners still receive the EDISU cash grant. We prepare the documents with you and file them with the university, and we prepare the EDISU Piemonte application with you, since EDISU takes it only from the student.

Reality check

  • Bachelor's places are ranked. Visa applicants to engineering compete for 447 reserved places through the TIL or the SAT, which needs at least 650 in each section.
  • Deadlines come early. For 2026/27, bachelor's visa applicants needed a test result and a B2 certificate by 22 May, and the master's calls closed in February and April.
  • Documents decide the fee. For a family with income abroad the GDP rule sets it, €922 (₹1.0 lakh) for India; a household with income in Italy and no ISEE pays €3,761 (₹4.1 lakh).
  • Italian still matters. Daily life, internships and Italian-taught courses need it; Italian-taught programmes ask for B2.

What we handle: the shortlist, the fee route, the income documents, the programme applications, the Universitaly pre-enrolment, the visa file and the EDISU Piemonte application, prepared with you. The university decides admission, the region decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

How does ApplyAZ handle applications to Politecnico di Torino?

For eligible students, we take care of the whole application to Politecnico di Torino. We shortlist programmes against your profile and their entry tests, prepare the documents and the family's income papers, file each programme application, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, handle the visa file and prepare the EDISU Piemonte application with you.

We work only with Italian public universities, and we do not promise outcomes: the university decides admission, the region decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

Frequently asked questions

Is Politecnico di Torino a public university?

Yes. Politecnico di Torino is a state university on the Ministry of University and Research's list of 61 public universities, with roots in the engineering school founded in 1859. Its fees follow family income or, for families abroad, a GDP rule, and it had 35,605 students in 2024/25, 7,457 of them international.

How much does Politecnico di Torino cost in 2026/27?

In 2026/27 Politecnico di Torino costs €161 (₹18,000) a year with a family ISEE up to €30,000, and up to €3,761 (₹4.1 lakh) at the top band or with no ISEE. Non-EU students whose family income is abroad pay by a GDP rule instead, from €761 to €3,761 (₹84,000 to ₹4.1 lakh) in total.

Can study at Politecnico di Torino be tuition-free for eligible students?

Yes, for families that file an ISEE: up to €30,000 the yearly contribution is €0 within the credit rules, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students, and EDISU Piemonte winners also get the €140 regional tax refunded. Non-EU students whose family income and assets are abroad pay by the GDP rule instead, €922 (₹1.0 lakh) for India.

What does a student from India pay at Politecnico di Torino?

A first-year student from India whose family income and assets are abroad pays €922 (₹1.0 lakh) in 2026/27: the €761 set for India under the GDP rule plus the fixed €161. Neither the ISEE parificato nor an EDISU Piemonte scholarship lowers this fee, though winners still get the EDISU cash grant. We prepare both files with the family.
