Entry requirements

Detailed entry requirements

Turin's Business & Management bachelor asks for a school-leaving qualification obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, with proof of authenticity, and a SAT score. Places are limited, and applicants are ranked only on their latest SAT result, in a separate list for non-EU applicants living abroad. Reviewed 8 October 2026. [1]

School-leaving qualification

You need an upper secondary school qualification obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, with at least the last two years in the same education system, that gives access in its own country to a degree comparable to this one. It must come with proof of authenticity. [2]

If your schooling lasted 10 or 11 years, you also need one or two years of completed university study, a related post-secondary qualification, or a Foundation Programme at an Italian university. If your country has a compulsory national university entrance exam, you include that result too. [2] Students in their final school year could join the 2026/27 first admission round, but you must hold the final qualification to enrol. [1][2]

What this means for your school results

As a guide, based on the rule above:

  • Usually a fit: Class 12 from CBSE, CISCE or a state board, a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC or HSSC), or GCE A levels, completed after 12 or more years of schooling.
  • Check carefully: a polytechnic diploma taken after Class 10, or a school record where you changed education system during the last two years.
  • Often short: a qualification after only 10 or 11 years of schooling, unless you add the extra university study, post-secondary qualification or Foundation Programme.

Your school marks do not set your place: the ranking uses only your SAT score, and the call sets no specific school subjects. [1]

English

The 2026/27 admission call does not ask for a separate English certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL. Admission rests on the SAT, which is an English-language test, and the whole degree is taught in English. [1][6]

SAT and ranking

Every applicant must take the SAT, run by the College Board, and pre-enrol on the UniTo portal to enter the ranking. There is no further selection test. [1]

  • Valid tests: for 2026/27, SATs taken from 2 January 2025 up to 6 June 2026 (first round) or 12 September 2026 (second round).
  • Which score counts: your most recent SAT before the round closes, even if it is lower than an earlier one. When you sit the test, you send your score to the University of Turin with code 9136.
  • Ranking: separate lists for Italian and EU applicants, for non-EU applicants living abroad who need a visa, and for the Marco Polo programme. Ties go to the higher SAT Math score, then to the younger applicant.
  • Minimum score: the call sets none for this degree, but if your SAT Math score is below 400 you must complete extra compulsory classes (OFA) and pass a check before taking exams.

For 2026/27 there were 250 places: 200 for Italian, EU and equivalent applicants, 40 for non-EU applicants living abroad who need a visa, and 10 for the Marco Polo programme. Unfilled non-EU places can pass to the main list. [1]

2026/27 deadlines

Non-EU applicants living abroad applied on Apply@UniTo from 19 February to 15 April 2026 and had to complete Universitaly pre-enrolment by 15 July 2026. [3]

Pre-enrolment on the UniTo portal for the first SAT ranking ran from 1 to 19 June 2026, with the ranking published by 17 July 2026 and enrolment from 21 to 23 July 2026. A second round, for places left unfilled, took pre-enrolments from 1 July to 14 September 2026. The 2027/28 calendar is not yet published. [1]

Documents and non-EU steps

Your Apply@UniTo application needs a valid passport and your school-leaving qualification with proof of authenticity, plus a transcript if the length of your schooling is unclear. Documents are accepted in Italian, English, French or Spanish, or with a certified translation. One application covers up to two programmes. [2][3]

  • Proof of authenticity can be legalisation, an apostille or an ENIC-NARIC statement of verification. For some countries, including India and Pakistan, the university can verify qualifications through official digital platforms. [2]
  • A CIMEA declaration of value or statement of comparability is not mandatory, but the office may request it. [2]
  • Apply@UniTo and Universitaly do not replace pre-enrolment on the UniTo portal for the SAT ranking. Even with a good rank, you can enrol only after the International Students Section approves your foreign qualification, and only then pay the first instalment. [1]

About the programme

Business & Management is a three-year bachelor's degree in class L-18-R, the Italian class for economics and business management. It is worth 180 ECTS, taught entirely in English and run by the Valter Cantino Department of Management of the University of Turin. Teaching is conventional and in person, at the School of Management and Economics campus (Campus SAA) in Turin.

Access is programmed, so the number of places is limited. Every applicant takes the SAT and the university ranks candidates on their SAT score alone, with no further selection test. [1][6] The degree suits school leavers who want a broad view of how companies work, built on a solid base of accounting, mathematics and economics.

What you will study

The first year lays the foundations in accounting, mathematics, microeconomics, statistics, operations management and law. The second year moves to macroeconomics, corporate finance, marketing, business management, organisation, business law and managerial and intermediate accounting. [6] The third year adds advanced accounting, human resource management, a business analytics lab and at least 12 ECTS of electives. Course units in the study plan include:

  • Financial Accounting & Business Administration (12 ECTS)
  • Mathematics for Business & Finance (12 ECTS)
  • Statistics for Business, and Operations Management
  • Financial Markets & Corporate Finance (12 ECTS)
  • Marketing and Business Organisation
  • Managerial Accounting and Intermediate Financial Accounting
  • Human Resource Management
  • Business Analytics Lab

How the programme is taught

Alongside lectures, the study plan includes a compulsory internship worth 15 ECTS and a final examination worth 3 ECTS. Elective activities include a language course in French, German, Italian or Spanish (6 ECTS). Third-year electives range from administrative law and quality management to public management, tax law in an international and European perspective, and sustainability accounting.

Career paths

The university's English course page does not list professional profiles for this degree. What the study plan covers are the core functions of a company: financial reporting and accounting, corporate finance, marketing, operations, organisation and people management, together with the business analytics lab and the 15 ECTS internship.

That mix prepares graduates to look for entry roles in these business functions, or to continue to a master's degree in management, finance or economics. At UniTo one option is the master's in Business Administration. The university's Career Development service supports students and graduates with the move into work.

Fees and scholarships

Students residing abroad pay a single all-inclusive contribution set by the GDP per capita (PPP) of their country of residence. Residents of countries on the ministry's list of particularly poor countries, such as Bangladesh, are exempt from the main contribution. [5]

This degree also carries an additional yearly contribution. For students residing abroad it follows the same GDP bands. EDISU Piemonte scholarship winners and eligible applicants are exempt from the standard tuition instalments, but not from this additional contribution. [5]

How to apply from outside the EU

Plan your SAT early. For 2026/27, SATs taken from 2 January 2025 counted, up to 6 June 2026 for the first ranking or 12 September 2026 for the second, and the university uses your most recent score, sent with code 9136. [1] Non-EU applicants residing abroad apply on Apply@UniTo, where one application covers up to two programmes. For 2026/27 their bachelor's call ran from 19 February to 15 April 2026; later calls were open only to applicants from the EU or already living in Italy. [3] Your diploma must come with proof of authenticity, such as legalisation, an apostille or an ENIC-NARIC verification statement. [2]

You also pre-enrol on the UniTo portal to enter the SAT ranking, because Apply@UniTo and Universitaly do not replace that step. For 2026/27, pre-enrolment for the first ranking ran from 1 to 19 June 2026, and the ranking was published by 17 July 2026. [1] Non-EU visa applicants also complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, which we handle (by 15 July 2026 for 2026/27), and then apply for a type D study visa. The 2027/28 calendar is not yet published. [1][3] The Italian consulate alone decides on the visa.

How ApplyAZ helps

ApplyAZ is an Italy-based consultancy that works only with public universities. We can include this programme in a shortlist of 20 to 30 English-taught programmes that fit your profile, so your plan never rests on a single application.

For eligible students who start with us, a named person owns each stage, from A to Z:

  • We check your school results against Turin's entry rules for this programme.
  • We write your CV and a tailored statement of purpose.
  • We prepare and submit your Apply@UniTo application, UniTo pre-enrolment for the SAT ranking and Universitaly pre-enrolment.
  • We help you declare your family income for reduced fees and file your EDISU Piemonte scholarship application at the right time and in the right format.
  • We prepare your visa file.

With operations in all 20 Italian regions, we follow each region's scholarship rules and deadlines as they change. The university decides admission, the region decides the scholarship and the consulate decides the visa, so no one can promise an outcome. You pay in milestones, and every service you pay for is either delivered or its fee is refunded (terms apply).

Programmes at Italian public universities can be tuition-free for eligible students. Check if you are eligible and book a one-to-one consultation session with one of our Italy experts, or see how ApplyAZ works.

Questions and answers

What school results do I need for Business & Management at Turin?

A recognised upper secondary qualification after at least 12 years of schooling, with proof of authenticity. Your school marks do not set your rank: the university ranks applicants only on their SAT score, in a separate list for non-EU applicants living abroad. [1][2]

Is there an entrance exam? What SAT score do I need?

Yes, the SAT is compulsory. For 2026/27 the call set no minimum score for this degree, and applicants were ranked on their latest SAT score. If your SAT Math score is below 400, you must complete extra compulsory classes, called OFA, after enrolling. [1]

Do I need IELTS for Business & Management?

The 2026/27 admission call does not ask for a separate English certificate such as IELTS. Admission rests on the SAT, which is taken in English, and the whole degree is taught in English. [1][6]

When is the deadline for non-EU students?

For 2026/27, non-EU applicants living abroad applied on Apply@UniTo from 19 February to 15 April 2026 and completed Universitaly pre-enrolment by 15 July 2026. SATs taken by 6 June 2026 counted for the first ranking. The 2027/28 calendar is not yet published. [1][3]

Can I apply before I finish school?

Yes. For 2026/27, students in their final school year could join the first admission round, and you can sit the SAT before getting your diploma. You must hold the final qualification to enrol. [1][2][4]

How many places are there for non-EU students?

For 2026/27 the call reserved 40 places for non-EU applicants living abroad who need a visa, out of 250 in total: 200 for Italian, EU and equivalent applicants and 10 for the Marco Polo programme. Unfilled non-EU places can pass to the main list. [1]

I studied commerce in Class 12 in India. Can I apply?

It can work. The rule asks for a qualification after at least 12 years of schooling that gives access to a comparable degree in India, and the call sets no specific school subjects. Your SAT score decides your rank, and a SAT Math score below 400 means extra OFA classes in mathematics. [1][2][6]

How are fees set for students living abroad?

Fees follow the GDP per capita of your country of residence. Residents of countries on the particularly poor countries list, such as Bangladesh, are exempt from the main contribution but still pay this degree's additional contribution. [5]

Can someone handle my whole application to Business & Management at Turin?

Yes. ApplyAZ, an Italy-based consultancy that works only with public universities, checks your school results against Turin's rules for this programme, handles the application and Universitaly pre-enrolment, helps you file the EDISU Piemonte scholarship application at the right time and in the right format, and prepares your visa file, for eligible students. Start by checking your eligibility.

I'm applying from India. What is the route into Business & Management?

Class 12 from CBSE, CISCE or a state board, completed after 12 years of schooling, can meet the school-leaving rule, but your rank depends only on your SAT score, sent to Turin with code 9136. The steps are the SAT, the Apply@UniTo application, pre-enrolment on the UniTo portal for the ranking and Universitaly pre-enrolment. [1][2] Indian students apply for the type D study visa at the Italian embassy or consulate that covers their state, such as New Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru.

Is the route different from Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka?

No. The academic rules for Business & Management are the same whatever your nationality. Applicants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka follow the same steps as India: SAT, Apply@UniTo application, UniTo pre-enrolment for the ranking and Universitaly pre-enrolment, then a type D study visa from the Italian mission for their country of residence. Read our guide for students in Dhaka.

I live in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman or Bahrain. Where do I apply for the visa?

At the Italian embassy or consulate responsible for the country where you legally live, after Universitaly pre-enrolment. The academic rules for Business & Management are the same whatever your nationality, and Gulf residents follow the same steps: SAT, Apply@UniTo application, UniTo pre-enrolment for the ranking and Universitaly pre-enrolment. Read our guides for Dubai, Riyadh and Doha.

I studied or live in London, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. What is the route?

The academic rules for Business & Management are the same whatever your nationality, and your school results are assessed like any other foreign qualification. Non-EU applicants who live abroad follow the same route: SAT, Apply@UniTo application, UniTo pre-enrolment for the ranking and Universitaly pre-enrolment, then a type D study visa from the Italian mission for where they live.
