How much does the University of Genoa cost in 2025/26?

The University of Genoa costs from €136 (₹15,000) a year in the lowest ISEE-U band to €3,436 (₹3.8 lakh) or more at the top band for a science or engineering degree in 2025/26. Families abroad are assessed on an ISEE-U parificato, and study can be tuition-free for eligible students who win an ALiSEO scholarship.

Who pays what, 2025/26Yearly totalHow it is set
ISEE-U up to €13,000, first-year full-time student€136 (₹15,000)Contribution €0; only the €16 stamp duty and the €120 minimum regional tax
ISEE-U €13,000.01 to €100,000By formulaThe contribution rises with the ISEE-U through four more bands, set separately for humanities and social sciences (1st class) and for medical, health, science and technology courses (2nd class)
Top band, humanities and social sciences (1st class)At least €3,161 (₹3.5 lakh)€3,025 maximum contribution plus €16 stamp duty and at least €120 regional tax (derived); applies above an ISEE-U of €100,000 or with no ISEE-U
Top band, medical, health, science and technology (2nd class)At least €3,436 (₹3.8 lakh)€3,300 maximum contribution plus €16 stamp duty and at least €120 regional tax (derived)
ALiSEO scholarship winners€16 (₹2,000)Only the €16 stamp duty

Anyone with no ISEE-U pays the maximum for the course class. In 2025/26 the fees fell due in three instalments, on 3 October 2025, 10 December 2025 and 25 June 2026.

Source: How the calculation is made, 2025/26 and the tuition fees and benefits page (no flat fee by country is listed). Rupees use the FBIL reference rate of 21 September 2026, €1 = ₹109.90.

Families with income abroad need an ISEE-U parificato, issued at no cost by a CAF affiliated with UniGe, by 31 October on the 2024/25 page. Late fees were €100 (₹11,000) in November and €200 (₹22,000) in December, and Genoa lists no flat fee by country. Source: Genoa, ISEE-U parificato (2024/25 page).

Worked example: With a family ISEE-U parificato below €13,000, a first-year student from India paid €136 (₹15,000) in 2025/26: the €16 stamp duty and the €120 minimum regional tax. Without an ISEE-U parificato the maximum applies, at least €3,436 (₹3.8 lakh) for a science or engineering degree, so the parificato is the cheaper route. We prepare the documents with you, file them with the university and prepare the ALiSEO scholarship application with you at the same time.

Reality check

  • Entry tests check preparation, not rank. The English-taught bachelor's accept CEnT, TOLC, SAT or ACT with no minimum score, while master's selection rests on the CV, degree and transcript, with a test or interview for some.
  • One session for visa applicants. For 2026/27 the UniGeApply fall session ran from 26 November 2025 to 20 March 2026, and evaluation can take up to two months.
  • Documents decide the fee. Without an ISEE-U parificato the maximum applies, at least €3,436 (₹3.8 lakh) for a science or engineering degree in 2025/26, against €136 (₹15,000) in the lowest band.
  • Italian still matters. Daily life, internships and Italian-taught courses need it; open-access Italian-taught courses ask for a recognised B2 certificate or a pass in UniGe's Italian test after arrival.

What we handle: the shortlist, the fee route, the income documents, the programme applications, the Universitaly pre-enrolment, the visa file and the DSU application, prepared with you. The university decides admission, ALiSEO decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

How does ApplyAZ handle applications to the University of Genoa?

For eligible students, we take care of the whole application to the University of Genoa. We shortlist programmes against your profile and their entry tests, prepare the documents and the family's income papers, file each programme application, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, handle the visa file and prepare the DSU scholarship application (ALiSEO) with you.

We work only with Italian public universities, and we do not promise outcomes: the university decides admission, ALiSEO decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

We list 18 English-taught master's at the University of Genoa, including Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Yacht Design and Economics and Data Science.
