How much does the University of Pisa cost in 2026/27?

The University of Pisa costs from €156 (₹17,000) a year in the no-tax area to €3,056 (₹3.4 lakh) at the top band for a regular student in 2026/27. The contribution follows the ISEE, or a flat fee by country without an ISEEU parificato, and study can be tuition-free for eligible students with a DSU scholarship.

Students enrolled beyond the normal length of their degree pay more, up to €3,680 (₹4.0 lakh) a year for an inactive student, plus €156. First-year students count as regular students from enrolment.

Students with income or assets abroad pay a flat contribution set by their country's World Bank income group, applied automatically; India is lower middle income, so the contribution is €580 (₹64,000). Worked example: With a family ISEEU parificato of €15,000 filed by 31 December 2026, a first-year bachelor's student from India pays €156 (₹17,000), because €15,000 is inside the no-tax area. Without it, the flat fee for India applies automatically at €736 (₹81,000), so for this family the ISEEU parificato route is cheaper. We prepare the ISEEU parificato documents with you and file them with the university, and we prepare the DSU Toscana application with the student, who submits it.

How do non-EU students apply to the University of Pisa?

Non-EU students living abroad apply to the University of Pisa programme by programme, then pre-enrol on Universitaly so the consulate can issue a study visa. The windows below are the 2026/27 ones, and the 2027/28 calls are not published yet. The university decides admission, and the consulate decides the visa.

Which entry tests and language levels does the University of Pisa ask for?

For Management for Business and Economics, its English-taught bachelor's, the University of Pisa accepts TOLC-E, CEnT, SAT, GMAT or ACT. Most English-taught master's select on grades and CV, and some add an interview. English-taught degrees recommend or require B2 English, and Italian-taught degrees ask for B2 Italian.

English: B2 is recommended for English-taught master's, and some calls require it, such as Cybersecurity. Management for Business and Economics requires no English certificate, but one awarded from 1 January 2022, such as IELTS Academic 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 90, adds up to 5 of its 46 ranking points. Source.

Do graduates of the University of Pisa find work?

Yes, most do. Among Pisa's master's graduates of 2024, 84.8% were in work about a year later, with mean net pay of €1,551 (₹1.7 lakh) a month, according to AlmaLaurea. Five years after graduating, 94.5% of the 2020 master's graduates were in work, earning €1,910 (₹2.1 lakh) a month on average.

Which DSU scholarship covers the University of Pisa?

Pisa students apply for the regional DSU scholarship through DSU Toscana. For 2026/27 the family ISEE limit is €27,000 (₹29.7 lakh), and the top grant for a student living away from home is €3,338 (₹3.7 lakh) in cash plus housing. Winners are also exempt from the university's yearly contribution, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students.

Pisa also runs its own Unipi Merit Scholarships for international students admitted to its English-taught master's or to Management for Business and Economics (Unipi Merit Scholarships page). The last call on that page, for 2024/25, gave 17 awards of €6,500 (₹7.1 lakh) in the first year plus a full fee exemption. What does it cost to live in Pisa?

For the study visa, the consulate asks you to show at least €10,179.85 (₹11.2 lakh) a year for living costs in Pisa or any other Italian city. That is a floor, not a full budget: rent is the biggest cost, and a DSU residence place is much cheaper than a private room.
