How hard is it to get into SDA Bocconi?

The Full-Time MBA takes a class of about 120 students, 129 in 2025-2026, from 40 countries, and every candidate goes through a file review, a video pre-interview and an interview. SDA Bocconi does not publish an acceptance rate on the pages we opened, so we do not quote one.

Most admitted candidates bring several years of work experience, and SDA Bocconi prefers a test score of 615 or higher for merit awards of 70% or more. We plan your round and your test around that, and we never promise an offer: SDA Bocconi decides admission.

Applying to Bocconi? Apply to public universities too

Why: places at SDA Bocconi are limited and admission is competitive, and its tuition is far higher than at a public university. At a public university, study can be tuition-free for eligible students through a DSU scholarship. Applying to both means more offers and a real choice.

We list Bocconi as an exception because it is a reputable university. Once you start with us, we shortlist the best public universities for you at the same time, and you decide which university you want to continue with.

How it works:

  1. Check your eligibility.
  2. Book your consultation with an ApplyAZ Italy expert.
  3. Tell them Bocconi is on your list.
  4. We shortlist 20 to 30 public English-taught programmes where your profile meets the entry requirements, and add Bocconi on top.
  5. You receive your admission decisions and choose from all your offers.

Start with the eligibility check. If you are eligible, we build your public shortlist and add SDA Bocconi on top.

Bocconi or a public university: which is better for me?

It depends on your career stage and budget. The SDA Bocconi MBA is for professionals with several years of experience and costs €86,000 (₹94.5 lakh) in tuition. A public master's in management suits graduates earlier in their career, costs a small share of that, and study can be tuition-free for eligible students.

SDA Bocconi suits you if you already have solid work experience and want a top-ranked MBA network. A public master's suits you if you are a recent graduate or cost matters. With both on your list, you decide once the offers are in.

Is the SDA Bocconi MBA worth the cost?

For experienced candidates it can be. The school ranked 4th in the world in the Financial Times Global MBA ranking 2025, and it reports that 79% of graduates seeking employment found a new job within three months. Against that, tuition is €86,000 (₹94.5 lakh), before a year of living costs in Milan.

A merit award changes the sums, so the fairest test is a side-by-side offer. If the award is small, any public master's offer you receive in the same field costs a fraction of that.

Can I apply to SDA Bocconi and to public universities at the same time?

Yes: the school and the public universities run separate applications, so one does not block the other. The MBA rounds run from October 2026 to April 2027, and each public call has its own dates: Padua's Management for Sustainable Firms, for example, is open from 15 September 2026 to 1 March 2027. Applying to both gives you more offers.

We plan the calendar across all of them: the MBA round, each public call, any test, the DSU scholarship and the visa. We prepare the applications and documents with you, file the public university applications and handle the Universitaly pre-enrolment and the visa file once you accept an offer.

Reality check

  • What the school does well: 4th in the world and 2nd in Europe in the Financial Times Global MBA ranking 2025, and a class from 40 countries.
  • What it costs: €86,000 (₹94.5 lakh) in tuition for 2027/28, plus personal expenses that SDA Bocconi puts at €2,000 (₹2.2 lakh) to €2,500 (₹2.7 lakh) a month.
  • How competitive it is: a class of about 120, with a file review, a video pre-interview and an interview, and an average of 6 years of experience.
  • What public options add: two-year English-taught master's in management, fees that follow income or a flat rate for families abroad, and study that can be tuition-free for eligible students through DSU.

SDA Bocconi decides admission and its awards, the DSU body decides the public scholarship and the consulate decides the visa. We never promise an offer.

How does ApplyAZ help with SDA Bocconi and public universities together?

For eligible students, we run one plan across both. We shortlist 20 to 30 public English-taught programmes where your profile meets the entry requirements and add SDA Bocconi on top. Then we plan your tests, prepare the applications and documents with you, and track every round and call so no deadline slips.

We have no partnership with SDA Bocconi or Bocconi, and we do not promise admission: each school decides its own offers and the consulate decides the visa. Once the decisions are in, you choose where to continue.
