UniTrento's International Management master asks for a bachelor's degree or recognised foreign equivalent with at least 60 credits in economics, business administration, statistics, mathematical methods of economics and private law, English at B2 and a merit score of at least 50 out of 100. Degree and credit rule
You need a bachelor's degree or higher, awarded in Italy or abroad and recognised as equivalent. For 2026/27, non-EU applicants could apply before graduating if they obtained the degree by 30 June 2026. [1]
Your studies must include at least 60 CFU showing good knowledge of economics, business administration, statistics, mathematical methods of economics and private law. The call lists these Italian subject sectors: [1]
- Economics: SECS-P/01 (ECON-01/A) and SECS-P/02 (ECON-02/A).
- Business administration and management: SECS-P/07 (ECON-06/A) and SECS-P/08 (ECON-07/A).
- Statistics and mathematical methods of economics: SECS-S/01 (STAT-01/A) and SECS-S/06 (STAT-04/A).
- Private law: IUS/01 (GIUR-01/A).

Degrees from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka do not use Italian CFU, so the committee reads your course list against the subject areas above. As a guide, based on the rule above:
- Usually a fit: a B.Com, BBA, or a BA or B.Sc. in Economics with courses in micro and macroeconomics, accounting, management, business statistics, business mathematics and business or contract law.
- Check carefully: a B.Sc. in Mathematics or Statistics, which covers the quantitative areas but may have too few economics, business or law courses to reach 60 credits. A B.Tech or B.E. with economics, management or industrial engineering electives also needs a close count.
- Often short: a BCA, or a B.Tech or B.Sc. in a science or computing field with little or no economics, business or law.
English
English at CEFR level B2 or higher, shown in one of these ways: [1]

- TOEFL: overall 72 or higher, TOEFL Home Edition accepted.
- Pearson Academic English Test: at least 42.
- GMAT: at least 580.
- Other listed certificates: Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE, BEC Vantage or BEC Higher, Bulats 60, City and Guilds, Trinity ISE II to IV, LCCI English for Business Level 2 to 4, Jetset 5 to 7 and Pearson General English Level 3 to 5.
- Without a certificate: a B2 or higher English exam passed in previous studies, a bachelor's or master's taught entirely in English (certified), or English as your mother tongue, declared by self-certifying that you completed all of your primary and secondary education in English.
Certificates are valid for five years unless the awarding body says otherwise. The committee may hold an interview to check your English. [1]
Selection and ranking
There is no written entrance test. A committee of at least three members scores your file out of 100: [1]
- Up to 40 points: your academic record.
- Up to 10 points: international certificates, meaning your English proof and any GMAT or GRE score. The GMAT and GRE are optional.
- Up to 50 points: your statement of purpose, reference letters and the committee's overall evaluation.
You need at least 50 out of 100 to be eligible, and at least 25 in the statement of purpose and references section, whatever your total. If your documents are not enough to assess you, the committee may call you for an interview. [1]
2026/27 places and deadlines
For 2026/27 there were 40 places, 30 of them reserved for non-EU applicants. Non-EU applicants living abroad had one call, from 17 December 2025 to 4 March 2026 at noon CET. Rankings were due by 30 April 2026. A second call, from 15 April to 29 May 2026, was open only to Europeans and equivalents. [1]
Admitted non-EU students had to obtain their visa by 30 September 2026 and enrol by 31 October 2026. These are the 2026/27 dates. The 2027/28 call is not yet published and will set the new dates. [1]

- a copy of your passport;
- your bachelor's degree certificate, if already awarded;
- your transcript with all exams and marks, and your grade point average if available, in English or Italian;
- a CV in English;
- your English proof;
- a GMAT or GRE score, if you have one (optional);
- a statement of purpose, given as answers to a few questions in English;
- at least two reference letters, uploaded by you before the deadline, with the contacts of at least two referees.
Once admitted, you confirm your place by the date in the admission notice. Admitted non-EU students then complete pre-enrolment with the Italian diplomatic mission in their country, which is compulsory for the visa. [1]

About the programme
International Management (MIM) is a two-year master's degree (laurea magistrale) worth 120 ECTS and taught in English at the Department of Economics and Management, via Vigilio Inama 5, in the centre of Trento. Admission is programmed, with 40 places in 2026/27, 30 of them reserved for non-EU applicants. [1][2]
The degree aims to train young executives for international business. It combines international management with a quantitative approach and a base in economics and law, so that you learn to analyse European and global markets and take decisions with data. It suits graduates in economics, business or related fields who want an analytical route into management.
What you will study
The first year is a common core of 52 ECTS in finance, trade, governance and quantitative methods. The second year centres on a 16 ECTS unit in international business management, an economics track and electives. Units in the official study plan include:

How the programme is taught
Classes mix lectures with group discussions, active participation and case study analysis. Optional crash courses in economics, international business and quantitative methods help students from different backgrounds get up to speed. Fees and scholarships
Under the 2026/27 call, the first-year fee for non-EU students living abroad follows the admission score, and a score of 90 or more brings a full tuition waiver, so this programme can be tuition-free for eligible students. In year two, earning at least 42 ECTS by 10 August 2027 brings a full waiver, and with fewer credits the fee depends on how many you earn. [1]

They come with a fee waiver, are paid after arrival in Trento and cannot be combined with scholarships from other Italian public bodies, such as MAECI or Invest Your Talent in Italy.
