How tuition works at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2026/27

Tuition at the University of Rome Tor Vergata follows family income (ISEE) and the fee class of each degree, and English-taught degrees sit in higher classes than most Italian-taught ones. Families with income abroad and no ISEE pay a flat fee by programme instead. Study can be tuition-free for eligible students with an ISEE who win a DiSCo Lazio scholarship.

An ISEE-Università up to €26,000 falls in the no-tax area, where first-year students pay no contribution. Above it, the contribution rises with the ISEE up to the maximum for each fee class, and the top band applies above an ISEE of €90,000. DiSCo Lazio scholarship winners with an ISEE are fully exempt from the contribution.

The ISEE-Università authorisation is due by 15 December 2026, and the first instalment by 6 November 2026.

Which entry tests and language levels does the University of Rome Tor Vergata ask for?

English: Set programme by programme. ICT and Internet Engineering, for example, asks for IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 65 or another B2 certificate; in exceptional cases, an online interview may be considered instead. Source.

What does it cost to live in Rome?

For the study visa, the consulate asks you to show at least €10,179.85 (₹11.2 lakh) a year for living costs in Rome or any other Italian city. That is a floor, not a full budget: rent is the biggest cost, and a DSU residence place is much cheaper than a private room.
