How tuition works at the University of Perugia
Tuition at the University of Perugia follows family income (ISEE). Families with income abroad can file an ISEE parificato or request the flat fee for their country, and DSU scholarship winners are exempt from tuition. An ISEE up to €22,000 falls in the no-tax area, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students.
The regulation prints no year, but Perugia's 2026/27 fee pages link it as the current one. Students enrolled for more than the normal length of their course plus one year pay a surcharge on their band (Article 9 and Annex 3). Late enrolment adds a surcharge that depends on the date (administrative deadlines 2026/27).
Source: Regolamento in materia di contribuzione studentesca and the 2026/27 notice for students with income or assets abroad. Rupees use the FBIL reference rate of 21 September 2026, €1 = ₹109.90.
Families abroad choose a flat fee by their country's human development class, or an ISEE parificato issued at no cost by a partner CAAF. The request runs from 3 August to 20 October 2026, or to 1 March 2027 with a surcharge. Source: Perugia, fees for international students.
For students from India: a family ISEEU parificato of €15,000 would fall inside the no-tax area if Perugia bands the parificato like an ISEE Università, as Article 7 of its regulation implies, so the parificato route can work out better than the flat fee for India. We prepare the documents with you, file them with the university and prepare the ADiSU Umbria scholarship application with you at the same time.

The University of Perugia uses CISIA's TOLC to assess entrants to three Italian-taught engineering degrees, not to select them. Engineering Management has its own admission test, and English-taught master's check documents on PICA. English-taught degrees ask for B2 English, though the study-documents list accepts B1 for bachelor's, and Italian-taught degrees ask for B2 Italian.

What does it cost to live in Perugia?
For the study visa, the consulate asks you to show at least €10,179.85 (₹11.2 lakh) a year for living costs in Perugia or any other Italian city. That is a floor, not a full budget: rent is the biggest cost, and a DSU residence place is much cheaper than a private room.

It sets out their QS 2027 rank, English-taught programmes and how tuition is set; the University of Camerino is a smaller alternative in Marche, with 7 English-taught programmes.

Reality check
- Windows are short and early. For 2026/27 the general PICA pre-evaluation for visa applicants ran only from 29 May to 7 June 2026.
- Nothing is completed from abroad. Perugia does not let students enrol on SOL or pay the first instalment from abroad; enrolment follows arrival and an in-person document check.
- Documents decide the fee. A family from India pays the flat fee for its country, or a fee set by its ISEEU parificato, which at €15,000 would fall in the no-tax area; the request closes on 20 October 2026.
- Italian still matters. Italian-taught degrees ask for B2, by a CLIQ certificate or Perugia's online test, and daily life and internships need it too.
What we handle: the shortlist, the fee route, the income documents, the programme applications, the Universitaly pre-enrolment, the visa file and the ADiSU Umbria application, prepared with you. The university decides admission, ADiSU Umbria decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.
How does ApplyAZ handle applications to the University of Perugia?
For eligible students, we take care of the whole application to the University of Perugia. We shortlist programmes against your profile and their entry tests, prepare the documents and the family's income papers, file each programme application, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, handle the visa file and prepare the ADiSU Umbria scholarship application with you.
We work only with Italian public universities, and we do not promise outcomes: the university decides admission, ADiSU Umbria decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

Check your eligibilityFrequently asked questions
Is the University of Perugia a public university?
Yes. How does tuition work at the University of Perugia?
Tuition at the University of Perugia follows family income (ISEE), and an ISEE up to €22,000 falls in the no-tax area. Families with income abroad can file an ISEE parificato or request the flat fee for their country. DSU scholarship winners are exempt from tuition, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students.
Can study at the University of Perugia be tuition-free for eligible students?
Yes. Students who meet the ADiSU Umbria scholarship requirements are exempt from Perugia's yearly contribution, and ADiSU refunds the regional tax, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students. How does tuition work for a student from India at the University of Perugia?
It depends on the route: a family from India can pay the flat fee for India, a medium human development country, or file an ISEEU parificato. A parificato of €15,000 would fall in the €22,000 no-tax area if Perugia applies it to the parificato, as its regulation implies. We work out the better route and prepare the documents with the family.
