Engineering Management is a two-year, 120 ECTS master's degree (class LM-31) taught in English by the Department of Engineering at the University of Perugia. It combines supply chain, data science, sustainability and project management. Fees follow income or a country-based flat rate, and it can be tuition-free for eligible students.
Entry requirements
- A three-year degree in engineering class L-8 or L-9 for direct admission, or an equivalent foreign degree judged suitable by a committee.
- Other graduates need at least 85 credits: 10 in physics, 15 in mathematics, statistics or computing, 25 in core engineering subjects and 35 in wider engineering, law or economics subjects.
- An English B2 certificate from UniPG's accepted list, mandatory for visa applicants; MOI letters and Duolingo results are not accepted.
- Degree documents with a CIMEA statement or declaration of value, the transcript and an official Italian translation, as on the study documents page.
- No entrance test: access is free, within a set number of places.

Engineering Management is a two-year master's degree (laurea magistrale) in class LM-31, management engineering, worth 120 ECTS. The Department of Engineering of the University of Perugia runs it in English on its Perugia campus. It started in 2025/26, so 2026/27 is the first year with both years of the course active.
The department describes it as a mix of advanced engineering and management, aimed at people who will run complex industrial systems and lead the digital and sustainable change of companies. It suits graduates in industrial or information engineering, and other graduates with a strong base in mathematics, physics and engineering subjects who want to move towards operations, analytics and strategy.
What you will study
The course is organised around three areas: production and logistics systems, digitalisation and business analytics, and product and process innovation. There are no separate curricula; every unit in the 2026/27 catalogue is taught in English. Units include:

- Supply Chain Management and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies

- Project Management and Innovation and Change Management (9 ECTS each, year two)
- Business Analytics and Data Visualization in Business Intelligence
- Applied Corporate Finance
- Computer Aided Quality Inspection and Quality Monitoring in Manufacturing
- 12 ECTS of elective courses, a 3 ECTS internship and the final thesis
How the programme is taught
Teaching mixes lectures, tutorials, lab work, group projects and industrial case studies, with project work and interim assessments alongside written and oral exams. The department says lessons are mainly in person, with the option to follow them live online when needed.
The course ends with an internship and a thesis, which can be a project on a company case, work in one of the department's laboratories or a theoretical study. Internships run inside the department or at partner companies, and students can take Erasmus mobility during the degree.

Fees and scholarships
For 2026/27 UniPG links tuition to family income and merit, usually between €150 and €2,200 a year, worked out from an ISEEU parificato. Students whose family income and assets are abroad can instead ask for a flat tax of €400 to €1,000 a year, set by their country's bracket. A.Di.S.U. Umbria runs the regional scholarship and housing calls, so this programme can be tuition-free for eligible students.

Engineering Management has its own pre-evaluation call on the PICA portal: for 2026/27 it stayed open until 21 August 2026. A B2 English certificate from UniPG's accepted list is mandatory, and MOI letters are rejected. A committee checks that your bachelor's credits meet the requirements.

Is the Engineering Management master taught in English?
Yes. UniPG lists it among its degrees entirely taught in English for 2026/27. It is a two-year laurea magistrale in class LM-31, taught in person in Perugia by the Department of Engineering.
Which bachelor's degrees give direct access?

Is there an entrance test?
No. Access is free with a set number of places: the department FAQ lists 80 for 2025/26. The TOLC-I, CEnT-S or SAT requirement applies only to the Engineering Management bachelor.
What English certificate do I need?
Visa applicants must upload a B2 certificate from UniPG's accepted list, such as IELTS or TOEFL iBT. Applications with an MOI letter or another certificate are rejected, and B2 proof is needed for the visa.
When can I apply for 2027/28?
The 2027/28 call is not out yet. For 2026/27, both Engineering Management degrees had their own PICA call for visa applicants, open until 21 August 2026, later than the general May to June call.
