ERDIS Marche Scholarship 2026/27: Amounts, Deadlines and Documents

Who can apply to ERDIS Marche from countries like India?

Students from countries like India can apply if they enrol at a Marche institution covered by the bando (official call), such as Marche Polytechnic University, and their family ISEE (the Italian family income indicator) is up to 24,000 EUR and ISPE (the family assets indicator) up to 50,000 EUR (Bando 2026/27, art. 2.1; art. 8.2).

Foreign students count as fuori sede (living away from home) unless their family lives in Italy (art. 12.1). The call also covers the University of Camerino, the University of Macerata and the University of Urbino Carlo Bo (art. 2.1). A student already holding a degree of the same or higher level, from Italy or abroad, is excluded (art. 20, lett. c).

How much is the ERDIS Marche grant?

A fuori sede student with an ISEE up to 12,000 EUR receives 8,246.78 EUR (about INR 9,07,000) a year. This is a gross value: the residence bed (2,821.00 EUR) and two meals a day (2,011.00 EUR) are provided as services, leaving 3,414.78 EUR in cash (art. 12.4, 12.7; Allegato F Tab. 59).

• Women on STEM courses get a 20% increase instead of the 15% low-ISEE increase, shown as 8,605.33 EUR in Allegato F Tab. 60 (art. 12.5)

Which documents does the family need from abroad for ERDIS Marche?

ERDIS needs original documents from the home country's authorities: family composition, each member's 2024 income, and property and savings at 31 Dec 2024. Each must be legalised or apostilled, with a certified Italian translation, and complete by 28 Aug 2026; self-declarations are not accepted (art. 8.8; art. 11.2).

ERDIS calculates the ISEE parificato (the income statement for families outside Italy) itself, so no CAF (tax assistance centre) is involved (art. 8.8). Members over 18 with no income or no property must have that stated explicitly (art. 11.2, lett. b and c). The full list is below.

When are the ERDIS Marche deadlines for 2026/27?

The application closed on 28 Aug 2026, the same day complete original family documents were due for the provisional ranking. Complete documents received by 18 Sep 2026 are reconsidered for the definitive ranking, expected in the first half of October 2026 (art. 10.1; art. 8.8; art. 15.3).

How and when is the ERDIS Marche grant paid?

For non-EU first-years, the first cash instalment is paid only after they reach the credits needed to keep the grant, unless they provide a surety bond (garanzia fideiussoria) or the family filed an Italian tax return for 2024 (art. 17.3). Cash goes only to an Italian or SEPA IBAN in the student's name.

The standard first-year schedule is 20% by 10 Nov, 30% by 31 Dec and the last 50% after 20 credits by 10 Aug 2027; two-year Master's first-years get 50% by 31 Dec and 50% after 20 credits (art. 17.3). The call does not say whether the non-EU rule also holds back the 31 Dec instalment, so we confirm it with ERDIS for each student.

Students who applied without an Italian ID must send ERDIS their codice fiscale (Italian tax code) and be identified at an ERDIS desk before any service or payment (art. 10.2 and 10.3).

How many credits do you need to keep the ERDIS Marche grant?

First-years need at least 20 CFU (university credits) by 10 Aug 2027, or 10 for part-time students and for courses with a single teaching period. Reaching the same threshold by 30 Nov 2027 is the last chance to keep the grant. Bonus credits cannot be used (art. 7.16).

What happens if you miss the ERDIS Marche credits?

Missing 20 credits by 10 Aug 2027 loses the final 50% of the cash. Missing them by 30 Nov 2027 revokes the whole grant: the student returns all cash received and repays the value of the bed and meals used, in up to 24 monthly instalments (art. 7.16; art. 7.17; art. 22).

A 4-month extension is possible only for a death in the family, a hospital stay of at least 10 days, the birth of a child or a natural disaster, requested with documents before 30 Nov 2027 (art. 7.16). For non-EU first-years the stakes are higher, because the first instalment itself waits for these credits (art. 17.3).

Can you get an ERDIS Marche residence bed?

Yes, if you are a fuori sede grant winner and asked for housing in the online application. The bed has no rent for 10 months, normally to 16 Jul 2027, and its 2,821.00 EUR value is deducted from the grant. At least 30% of beds are reserved for first-years (art. 16; art. 17.1; art. 12.7).

ERDIS residences are in Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Camerino, Fermo, Macerata, Matelica, Pesaro and Urbino (art. 16.1). Winners accept the bed online within 5 days of the provisional ranking notice after paying a 150 EUR deposit, and need a recent medical certificate on entry; under-18s are not ranked for beds (art. 16).

Winners ERDIS cannot house by 19 Oct 2026 receive the housing share in cash only with a registered lease of at least 10 months in or next to the study city, filed by 13 Nov 2026 (art. 11.3, lett. a; art. 17.1). For eligible students we arrange the bed steps or the lease file.

Documents from abroad for the ERDIS Marche 2026/27 call

ERDIS asks for original family documents from the authorities of the home country, each legalised by the Italian diplomatic authority or apostilled, with an Italian translation certified by the consulate or an official translator. Complete originals were due by 28 Aug 2026 for the provisional ranking, and by 18 Sep 2026 for the definitive one (art. 8.8; art. 11.2).

• Family composition at the application date, showing who lives with the head of household; a parent's date of death, a separation or divorce certificate, or documents on a parent's abandonment or court-ordered removal where relevant (art. 11.2, lett. a)
• Income of every family member for tax year 2024, in local currency; for every member over 18 with no income, an explicit statement, backed if needed by an unemployment, homemaker or student certificate (art. 11.2, lett. b)
• All real estate owned by every member at 31 Dec 2024, with its value as the call defines it; members over 18 with no property must have that stated explicitly (art. 11.2, lett. c)
• Financial assets held abroad by every member at 31 Dec 2024, or the average balance for 2024; bank documents need no legalisation but still need a certified Italian translation (art. 11.2, lett. d)
• A copy of the 2026/27 residence permit (permesso di soggiorno), which may follow until 3 May 2027 while cash stays suspended (art. 11.2, lett. e)
• A digital passport-style photo and, for students without an Italian ID, a copy of a valid identity document, uploaded with the application (art. 11.3, lett. b and e)
• Originals only: self-declaration is not allowed for income and assets abroad, and missing or unlegalised documents mean exclusion (art. 11.2; art. 20, lett. h and i)
• Where they go: the call prints no delivery address; for posted documents the sending post office date counts, and ERDIS refuses parcels with charges payable by the recipient (art. 8.8)

Frequently asked questions about ERDIS Marche

What does 'particularly poor countries' mean in the ERDIS Marche call?

It is the Ministry list in D.M. 176 of 24 Feb 2026, printed as Allegato D. Students from those countries can use a certificate from the Italian mission instead of the family documents. India is not on the list, so students from countries like India submit the full family documents (art. 11.2; Allegato D).

Why would my first ERDIS payment be held back?

For non-EU first-years, the first instalment is paid only when the credits needed to keep the grant are reached, unless the student provides a surety bond (garanzia fideiussoria) or the family filed an Italian tax return for 2024 (art. 17.3). The cash also stays suspended until a copy of the residence permit arrives (art. 11.2, lett. e).

What if I did not ask for a bed in my ERDIS application?

A fuori sede student who does not request housing in the online application loses the housing share of the grant, 2,821.00 EUR, in cash as well (art. 17.1, lett. f; art. 12.7). The housing share is paid with a registered lease only when ERDIS could not house a student who did ask for a bed (art. 17.1, lett. e).

I am starting Medicine in Marche. Is the ERDIS process the same?

Not for everyone. Students enrolled in the semestre aperto (the open first semester) of Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine cannot use this call; ERDIS will publish a separate call for them after they enrol in the second semester (art. 10.8; art. 20, lett. q). Can I hold another scholarship with the ERDIS Marche grant?

No, apart from grants for study periods abroad. Students who receive other allowances or scholarships, including university scholarships, or a college place are excluded, and the grant is revoked if this happens after the award (art. 20, lett. f; art. 21, lett. e).

Do I need an Italian bank account for ERDIS Marche?

Cash goes only to a current account or an IBAN prepaid card in the student's name, or joint name, at an Italian or SEPA-area bank. The IBAN is given in the application or by 31 Oct 2026, or payment is suspended (art. 17.3). A codice fiscale is also needed before any payment (art. 10.2).

What if I cannot arrive on the date ERDIS sets for the residence keys?

Keys must be collected on the date in the ERDIS notice, or the bed and the 150 EUR deposit are lost. Winners who confirm interest within 5 days of the provisional ranking notice and document the reason for the delay get a new date within 10 days of the definitive ranking (art. 16.6).
