How much does the University of Salerno cost in 2026/27?

The University of Salerno costs from €146 (₹16,000) a year with a family ISEE up to €25,500 to €167 (₹18,000) with an ISEE up to €30,000 in 2026/27. The fees above it and the third band for non-EU students are in a regulation we could not open, and study can be tuition-free for eligible students with ADISURC.

Who pays what, 2026/27Yearly totalHow it is set
ISEE up to €25,500, first year (no-tax area)€146 (₹16,000)Contribution €0, because first-year students are exempt up to an ISEE of €30,000; only the €130 ADISURC regional tax and €16 stamp duty (derived)
ISEE €25,500.01 to €30,000, first year (still no-tax area)€167 (₹18,000)Contribution €0; only the €151 regional tax and €16 stamp duty (derived). Later years keep the exemption with 10 credits (second year) or 25 credits earned between 10 August 2025 and 10 August 2026
ISEE above €30,000Not verifiedThe contribution rises by band under the 2026/27 regulation, which we could not open; the regional tax is €151, or €173 above an ISEEU of €51,000 or with no ISEEU
Non-EU students living abroad, such as students from IndiaNot verifiedThe third contribution band applies, or the first band with documented family hardship or for a low human development country; an ISEE parificato sets the band instead. Salerno's pages for foreign students still link the 2023/24 fee guide, and we could not open its 2026/27 regulation, so this page gives no top band. The fee calculator shows three instalments, with the €16 stamp duty paid with the first. We work out the band for you before enrolment.

Salerno places non-EU students who do not live in Italy in the third contribution band, unless they document difficult family circumstances for the first band. Students from low human development countries go to the first band automatically, and students with an ISEE parificato are banded by the fee payment guide. Source: Salerno, general information for foreign students.

Worked example: A student whose family lives in India starts in the third band, because India is a medium, not low, human development country (UNDP classes, as the University of Perugia's 2023/24 country list gives them). The third-band amount could not be verified; on top come the €151 (₹17,000) regional tax for a family abroad and the €16 stamp duty. We work out the band with the family, prepare the ISEE parificato and file the documents with the university, and we prepare the ADISURC scholarship application with you for the next call.

How do non-EU students apply to the University of Salerno?

Non-EU students living abroad apply to the University of Salerno through Universitaly pre-enrolment, which opened in mid-March 2026 for 2026/27, and Salerno then evaluates their documents. Most English-taught master's add an admission test, an interview or a check of qualifications, and two ran remote test sessions for applicants abroad. The university decides admission, and the consulate decides the visa.

Reality check

  • Test and interview dates come early. For 2026/27, remote admission tests for applicants abroad to Digital Medicine and Digital Energy ran on 22 June, 3 July and 11 September 2026.
  • English certificates are checked strictly. Those two master's accept only B2 certificates from bodies accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, and refuse Duolingo and medium-of-instruction letters.
  • Documents decide the fee. Non-EU students living abroad start in the third contribution band, an ISEE parificato sets the band instead, and ADISURC needs one by 31 March 2027.
  • Italian still matters. Italian-taught degrees ask for B2, and Digital Marketing asks for B1 Italian even on its English curriculum.

What we handle: the shortlist, the fee route, the income documents, the programme applications, the Universitaly pre-enrolment, the visa file and the ADISURC application, prepared with you. The university decides admission, ADISURC decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

How does ApplyAZ handle applications to the University of Salerno?

For eligible students, we take care of the whole application to the University of Salerno. We shortlist programmes against your profile and their entry tests, prepare the documents and the family's income papers, register each admission test or interview, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, handle the visa file and prepare the ADISURC scholarship application with you.

We work only with Italian public universities, and we do not promise outcomes: the university decides admission, ADISURC decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.

Frequently asked questions

Is the University of Salerno a public university?

Yes. The University of Salerno is on the Ministry of University and Research's list of 61 public universities, with roots in a 1944 institute of education and state status since 1968. Its main campus is at Fisciano, with a second at Baronissi, and it had 32,512 students in 2024/25, 234 of them international.

How much does the University of Salerno cost in 2026/27?

In 2026/27 first-year students at the University of Salerno pay no contribution up to a family ISEE of €30,000, only €146 (₹16,000) or €167 (₹18,000) in regional tax and stamp duty. Non-EU students living abroad start in the third band, and its amount, like the fees above €30,000, is in a regulation we could not open.

Can study at the University of Salerno be tuition-free for eligible students?

Yes. ADISURC refunds the university fees and regional tax paid to every eligible candidate, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students. The 2026/27 family limits are an ISEE of €25,500 and an ISPE of €54,000, and the grant for a student living away from home reaches €8,246.78 (₹9.1 lakh); that window closed on 10 September 2026.

What does a student from India pay at the University of Salerno?

A student whose family lives in India starts in Salerno's third contribution band, since only low human development countries go to the first band automatically. The third-band amount is not verified, and the €151 (₹17,000) regional tax and €16 stamp duty come on top. An ISEE parificato can set the band instead, and we prepare it with the family.

How many programmes does the University of Salerno teach in English?

We list 6 English-taught programmes at the University of Salerno for the next intake, all two-year master's, such as Information Engineering for Digital Medicine, Smart Industry Engineering, Food Engineering and Digital Marketing. Each checks the applicant through its own admission test, interview or assessment of qualifications, and most ask for B2 English.

Which entry tests does the University of Salerno use?

The University of Salerno sets a compulsory entry test for its open-access bachelor's degrees, such as CISIA's TOLC-I for Computer Engineering, and the CISIA TEST ITALIANO-L2 for applicants without B2 Italian. Its English-taught master's use their own admission test, an interview or an assessment of qualifications. We match each programme to its test and handle the registration.

Does the University of Salerno offer its own scholarships?

Yes. For 2026/27 Salerno ran a UNISA Scholarship call with 48 places for non-EU international students enrolling in its master's degrees, with applications through Universitaly by 30 June 2026. That call is closed, and for students from countries like India the ADISURC scholarship remains the main award, which we prepare with you.

What is the University of Salerno's world ranking?

The University of Salerno is in the 851 to 900 band of the QS World University Rankings 2027, joint 26th among Italian public universities, and in the 501 to 600 band of the THE World University Rankings 2026. It has no subject in the world top 200 of QS by Subject 2026, so the programme matters more than the rank.

When do applications open at the University of Salerno?

For 2026/27, Universitaly pre-enrolment for Salerno opened in mid-March 2026, and three English-taught master's held tests or interviews for applicants abroad from June to September 2026. Two-year master's enrolment runs to 1 March 2027. The 2027/28 calls are not published yet, so we track each call on your shortlist and file every application in time.
