Degree eligibility and prior subject credits
Applicants need a three-year university degree or diploma, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable. Industrial Engineering L-9 or former class 10 fulfils the stated curricular route. The regulation also allows review of L-7, L-8, L-2, L-21, L-23, L-27, L-30, L-31, L-35 and L-41, their earlier equivalents, suitable foreign qualifications, and five-year Engineering or Architecture degrees. For the curricular-credit assessment, the minimum groups are 24 CFU in MAT, SECS-S/01-02, INF/01, ING-INF/05, FIS or CHIM, plus 12 CFU in ING-IND. Credits are summed within each group, not required in every listed discipline. A foreign degree’s academic content is reviewed rather than accepted solely because its title sounds similar. [1][3]
Curricular deficits must be completed before enrolment
If the curricular conditions are incomplete, we request review of your previous academic career. A commission may propose integrations or study-plan constraints, followed by the department’s decision. Any assigned supplementary credits, up to 30 CFU under this programme regulation, must be earned before matriculation, including through single-course examinations. [1]
Possible integration areas include mathematics, physics and chemistry, information systems, fluid machinery, energy systems, thermal engineering, electrical machines/converters and electrical power systems. The programme expressly prohibits enrolment with outstanding curricular debts. A general university operational document’s larger ceiling does not replace this programme-specific 30-credit limit. Preparation assessment and the 85/110 condition
Personal preparation is automatically verified at a final degree mark of at least 85/110. Below that mark, the regulation provides an individual interview with a commission, so 85/110 is not an absolute exclusion threshold. [1]
The interview assesses the listed energy-engineering areas, including fluid machinery, energy systems, industrial/environmental thermal engineering, electrical machinery and power systems. An insufficient outcome prevents enrolment. A partially satisfactory assessment may impose constraints on electives or curriculum choice. The regulation states there is no general entrance test, while retaining this conditional preparation interview. [1]
English evidence and curriculum-specific Italian rules
English B2 is required. The regulation permits recognised certification or the university Language Centre assessment, listing options such as Cambridge FCE, Trinity ISE II and IELTS from 5.5 within its stated B2-to-C2 range. Its legacy certificate table contains naming and test-format inconsistencies; we confirm any certificate whose precise format is unclear instead of assuming a numerical conversion. [1]
The current 2026/27 Language Centre page lists Energy Engineering and describes a 30-question B2 assessment completed in 15 minutes, passed at 21/30 or more. Booking closes three working days before a session. The next listed session after this review is 22 October 2026; other dates follow in the published calendar. [4]
The course page states Italian teaching in Bari and English teaching in Lecce. The regulation also contains a general Italian B2 statement for foreign students, whereas the central operational guidance ties the visa-related Italian assessment to Italian-taught courses. Application, qualification documents and 2026/27 windows
Poliba requires the admission procedure before enrolment. Its 2026/27 guidance says applicants must already hold the first-cycle qualification and normally select one master’s programme. It separately describes a double preference for simultaneous enrolment in two Poliba master’s courses. In the standard procedure, we submit the application through Esse3 during an authorised window, and the university then issues its eligibility decision. [3]
The current central guidance requests valid identification and previous-career evidence. Italian qualifications use the prescribed self-certification forms. For a foreign qualification it requests the secondary-school certificate and first-cycle university qualification with examination list, with the specified Italian or English translations and legalisation. A passport is required for non-EU applicants residing abroad. Recognition and visa-related document checks remain separate from the course’s academic assessment. [3]
The published 2026/27 windows are 28 July to 15 September 2026; 1 to 15 October, November and December 2026; 5 to 20 January 2027; 1 to 15 February, March and April 2027; and 2 to 10 May 2027. The October window is open at this review date. Enrolment from 1 February 2027 requires part-time status under this guidance. These academic windows do not establish a visa applicant’s separate deadline. The same webpage retains an older 2025/26 enrolment paragraph, so those older dates are not reused here. [3]
