Non-EU applicants living abroad must also appear on the Universitaly pre-enrolment list for this programme, which the Italian embassy or consulate sends to the university. All applicants are admitted subject to a check of eligibility. [1]

What this means for your school results

The call sets no school subject rule and ranks places on the CEnT-S, not on school marks. As a guide, based on the rule above:

• Usually a fit: Class 12 or Higher Secondary results that give university access in your country, such as CBSE, ISC or a state board in India, or the HSC in Pakistan or Bangladesh, with solid maths.
• Check carefully: a school-leaving certificate from a system with a shorter upper secondary cycle, since the call asks for at least four years or an equivalent.
• Often short: a Class 10 certificate, or a vocational diploma that does not give access to university in your country.

Maths carries the most weight: each Mathematics point above 6 in the CEnT-S earns 1.5 bonus points. [1]

English at CEFR level B1 or above is mandatory, shown by a recognised certificate. Without one, you can request an online English interview, and a pass counts as B1. Without a B1 certificate or an interview pass you cannot enter the ranking. [1]

Certificates above B1 add ranking points: 1 for B2, 2 for C1 and 3 for C2 or above. An interview pass adds no points. [1]

Selection: the CEnT-S

Every applicant takes the CISIA CEnT-S. The department runs it as CEnT@CASA, online from home with a laptop and a smartphone or tablet. For 2026/27, tests taken up to the June 2026 period were valid. [1] The TOLC-E is not accepted. [2]

• Sections that count: only Mathematics and Reasoning on texts and data, 30 questions in total. Each correct answer scores 1 point, each wrong answer loses 0.25 and a blank scores 0. [1]
• Final score: your raw points in the two sections, plus 1.5 points for each Mathematics point above 6, plus any English certificate points. Ties go to the younger applicant. [1]
• Thresholds: 11 points across the two sections and 6 in Mathematics. Below either one you can still enrol if your rank is high enough, but with additional learning requirements (OFA). [1]
• Clearing the OFA: under the 2026/27 call, by September 2027, through tutored maths support and a final test, or by passing the Linear Algebra or Analysis exam. Until then you cannot sit exams beyond the first year. [1]

2026/27 deadlines

These dates come from the 2026/27 calls. The first non-EU call offered 100 places, with applications until 3 July 2026. [3] The reopened call for the 88 places still vacant took applications and uploads from 10 August to 21 September 2026. [1] On 30 September 2026 the university moved the ranking to 12 October 2026, with enrolment from 13 October to 11:59 pm on 20 October 2026. [4] The 2027/28 call is not yet published and will set the new dates.

To enrol, you upload a valid identity document, your Italian tax code, a passport-style photo, the signed enrolment application and the receipt for the first fee instalment, including the regional tax. You also authorise the university to retrieve your ISEE. [1]
