How tuition works at Iuav University of Venice

At Iuav University of Venice, tuition follows family income (ISEE) and is the same for every course. An ISEE up to €26,000 falls in the no-tax area. Families with income abroad can file an ISEE or request the flat fee for their country, and DSU scholarship winners are exempt from tuition, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students.

For first-year students the first instalment is due by the admission deadline. The ISEE declaration is due by 18 December 2026, 12:00, and the flat-fee request by 18 December 2026. Late declarations carry a surcharge from 19 December 2026 to 5 May 2027. Students who meet the merit requirements get 50% off the second and third instalments.

Families with income abroad can file an ISEE parificato, only through the CAF with an Iuav agreement, with foreign documents translated into Italian and legalised where required. How do non-EU students apply to Iuav University of Venice?

Non-EU students living abroad apply to Iuav University of Venice programme by programme, then pre-enrol on Universitaly so the consulate can issue a study visa. Which entry tests and language levels does Iuav University of Venice ask for?

Iuav University of Venice selects for its English-taught master's on the degree, the grade and a video in English, with no entry test. Its Italian-taught bachelor's in Architecture uses CISIA's TEST-ARCHED, a national limited-access test. English-taught master's ask for B2 English, and visa applicants to its bachelor's degrees need B2 Italian.

English: B2 for the English-taught master's, by a certificate such as IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 72, Cambridge 160 or TOEIC 785, no older than five years, or a degree taught entirely in English. Native speakers are exempt. Source.

Do graduates of Iuav University of Venice find work?

Yes, most do. Among Iuav's master's graduates of 2024, 84.6% were in work about a year later, with mean net pay of €1,333 (₹1.5 lakh) a month, according to AlmaLaurea. Five years after graduating, 96.0% of the 2020 master's graduates were in work, earning €1,919 (₹2.1 lakh) a month on average.

For 2026/27 the family ISEE limit is €26,306.25 (₹28.9 lakh) and the grant away from home reaches €8,246 (₹9.1 lakh). Winners pay no contribution or regional tax, so study can be tuition-free for eligible students.

Iuav also runs its own Study@Iuav tuition fee waivers (Study@Iuav call 2026/27). For 2026/27 it offered 40 waivers to international students admitted in the first selection to its English-taught master's: 10 each for Architecture, Curating Arts and Heritage and Urban and Spatial Planning for Transition, and 5 each for the two engineering master's. The waiver covers the contribution, not the regional tax or stamp duty, and can be combined with the Veneto DSU scholarship.

What does it cost to live in Venice?

For the study visa, the consulate asks you to show at least €10,179.85 (₹11.2 lakh) a year for living costs in Venice or any other Italian city. That is a floor, not a full budget: rent is the biggest cost, and a DSU residence place is much cheaper than a private room.
