Ca' Foscari's Tourism Management and Sustainability master has open admission. You need a bachelor's degree of at least three years in a related field, or one with at least 60 credits in the listed fields, a CGPA of at least 70%, a pass in an online entry test if you need a visa, a positive assessment of your CV and preparation, and English at B2. Degree and credit requirements

You need a bachelor's degree of at least three years. Graduates in business administration, economics, social work, cultural heritage, philosophy, humanities, history, modern languages, language mediation or tourism (Italian classes L-18, L-33, L-39, L-1, L-5, L-10, L-42, L-11, L-12 and L-15, or a recognised equivalent) meet the curricular requirements. Graduates in other fields need at least 60 credits across these areas, with at least 24 of them in business and economics, law, or language and literature: [2]

• Business and economics: SECS-P/01, 02, 03 and 07 to 11.
• Statistics and computing: SECS-S/01 and 06, INF/01 and ING-INF/05.
• Law: IUS/01, 04, 09 and 10.
• Language and literature: English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Slavic and other modern languages and literatures, Italian and Latin literature, and the languages of China, Japan and Korea.
• Geography, sociology, and history, art history and archaeology.

Missing credits must be made up before enrolment through single bachelor's-level courses at Ca' Foscari or another university. Ca' Foscari's international admissions page also sets a minimum CGPA of 70% in its provisional rules for 2027/28. [2][3]

What this means for your transcript

Italian CFU and foreign credits are not always the same unit, and the Teaching Committee looks at the subjects on your transcript, not just your total. As a guide, based on the rule above:

• Usually a fit: a B.Com or BBA, a B.A. or B.Sc. in Economics, a tourism degree, or a B.A. in English, a modern language, history, philosophy or another humanities subject.
• Check carefully: a hotel management degree, or a B.A. in Sociology or Geography, which may reach 60 credits in the listed areas but needs 24 of them in business and economics, law, or language and literature.
• Often short: a B.Tech, BCA or natural science degree, where usually only the statistics and computing courses fall in the listed areas.

Ca' Foscari's country rules also matter. For India it lists an honours bachelor's of at least three years, a professional bachelor's of at least four years, or a pass or general bachelor's followed by a postgraduate degree. Pakistan and Bangladesh have similar rules, and for Sri Lanka it lists a bachelor's of at least four years. Your grades are converted to a percentage using your university's official grading scale, so the scale belongs in your file. [3][6]

English

English at CEFR level B2 or higher is mandatory for enrolment, shown with a recognised certificate or through one of Ca' Foscari's exemption categories. You can apply without a certificate, but you must provide one to complete enrolment. Ca' Foscari runs no English test of its own as part of the application. [2][3]

On Ca' Foscari's list of recognised certificates, B2 corresponds to IELTS 5.5 to 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 72 to 94. [6]

Entry test for visa applicants

Non-EU applicants who need a visa must pass an online entry test in English, run by the provider Selexi, on the single date set for the round in which they applied. It gives a first assessment of your personal preparation, and missing the date means the application is rejected. [1][3]

• General part: 30 questions in 30 minutes on accounting, budget and cost analysis and management control, business management, marketing and strategy, finance, organisation and human resources, and banking and financial markets.
• Tourism Management and Sustainability part: 20 questions in 20 minutes.
• Scoring: 1 point for a correct answer, minus 0.25 for a wrong one and 0 for no answer. You pass with at least 10 out of 50.

You sit the test remotely with a computer, a smartphone or tablet and an internet connection, under online supervision. Ca' Foscari publishes a sample test, and results come out within three weeks of the test. [1]

Assessment of your preparation

If you pass the test, the International Office checks your qualification, which can take up to two weeks, and the Teaching Committee assesses your preparation in economics, management and languages from your CV and transcript. Your application needs a motivation letter written for this programme. [1][2][3]

• No interview needed: graduates of the listed degree classes, or an equivalent degree, with a final mark of at least 95/110.
• Interview: everyone else. You pass if the average of the interview mark and your degree mark, both out of 110, is at least 88.
• Exemption on request: applicants who already hold a master's degree with at least 95/110 can ask to skip the interview.

Only applicants who pass both checks receive a letter of enrolment eligibility. [1]

2026/27 deadlines

For 2026/27, the rounds open to you depended on your citizenship, and each round had one entry test date at 2 pm Italian time: [1][4]

• Round 1: applications from 17 December 2025 to 14 January 2026, test on 5 February 2026.
• Round 2: applications from 4 February to 4 March 2026, test on 26 March 2026.
• Round 3: applications from 25 March to 15 April 2026, test on 7 May 2026.
• Round 4: applications from 29 April to 20 May 2026, test on 11 June 2026. Among the management master's degrees, only this programme had a fourth round.

Applicants from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh (Ca' Foscari's Group 2) could use rounds 1 and 2 only. Group 1, which includes Sri Lanka, Nepal, the six Gulf states, the UK, the US, Singapore and Malaysia, had the later rounds as well. Applications had to be completed by the day before each round closed, and applicants in rounds 1 and 2 could also apply for Ca' Foscari's merit scholarships. [1][4]

Universitaly pre-enrolment for 2026/27 closed on 30 September 2026. The 2027/28 rounds are not yet published. [3][6]

Documents and non-EU steps

You apply on Ca' Foscari's online application platform, and one application covers up to two programmes. You upload your passport, a transcript of records for all years of your bachelor's, or a provisional transcript if you are in your final year, with official translations into English or Italian where needed, plus your CV and motivation letter. Your university's grading scale is highly recommended. Your final degree documents must be uploaded before the end of the enrolment period. [1][6]

With a letter of enrolment eligibility, you complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, apply for a study visa and upload the visa to your application. [6]

To complete enrolment you need one of these: a CIMEA Statement of Comparability, a declaration of value from the Italian diplomatic mission, an ARDI statement of correspondence with a CIMEA Statement of Verification, or a Diploma Supplement in the European model from a country in the European Higher Education Area. For 2026/27 the final enrolment deadline for visa applicants was 18 December 2026. [6]

What bachelor's degree do I need for Tourism Management and Sustainability at Ca' Foscari?

Yes. If you are in your final year, you upload a provisional transcript of records when you apply. Your final degree documents must be uploaded before the end of the enrolment period, which for 2026/27 closed on 18 December 2026. [6]

I have a hotel management degree or a B.Tech. Can I apply?

Possibly. A hotel management degree may reach the 60 credits through business, economics and language courses, but at least 24 must be in business and economics, law, or language and literature. A B.Tech usually falls short. Missing credits must be made up before enrolment through single bachelor's-level courses. [2]

Which tracks can I choose?

Two: Tourism Business Management, which focuses on tourism enterprises, and Tourism Governance, which centres on destination development policies. Your choice of units, including two from one of two clusters, shapes your track. [2][3][5]

How do fees work?
