Master in Data Analytics for Business and Society at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice

About the programme

Data Analytics for Business and Society is a two-year master's degree in class LM-91-R (Methods and techniques for the information society), taught entirely in English on Ca' Foscari's Economics Campus in Venice. It carries 120 ECTS, has open admission subject to an assessment of each applicant, and attendance is not compulsory.

The degree teaches students to interpret large datasets for institutions, banks and businesses and turn them into insights for strategic decisions and policy evaluation. Data processing and analysis are applied to economics, strategy, marketing, human resources, finance, accounting and the social sciences. It suits graduates in economics, business, statistics or mathematics who want a quantitative career built on data.

What you will study

Two curricula, Business Application and Fintech and Big Tech, share a quantitative foundation in computing technologies, artificial intelligence, statistical learning and mathematical optimisation. Students learn quantitative, data-driven methods and machine learning techniques for finding patterns and building predictive models from digital data. Units in the 2026/27 timetable include:

How the programme is taught

The degree includes an internship, which Ca' Foscari's Career Service helps arrange in Italy or abroad, and a final thesis. Students can take an international double degree with Université Aix-Marseille in France, or with City, University of London or Henley Business School at the University of Reading in the UK. Erasmus+ and Overseas exchanges are also available.

Career paths

Graduates work as business analysts or multidisciplinary professionals, helping companies build a competitive advantage and create new business models. The university lists:

• Finance, including complex valuation and pricing models
• Corporate strategy
• Public administration and the tertiary sector, developing and managing data-based services
• Scientific, technological, biological and healthcare fields, supporting sector specialists

Graduates can also continue to a PhD in economics, business or computer science.

Fees and scholarships

Ca' Foscari's non-EU master's fee is a flat yearly rate by citizenship: for 2026/27, €1,300 for most countries, including countries like India, €2,300 for OECD countries and €700 for countries on the ministry's low human development list, with regional tax and stamp duty included. Students who qualify for the Veneto regional scholarship with an ISEE parificato are exempt from fees, which means zero euro tuition for eligible students.

How to apply from outside the EU

Non-EU candidates who need a visa take an online written entry test that gives a first assessment of their preparation, and the Teaching Committee also reviews the transcript, CV and a motivation letter written for this degree. You need a CGPA of at least 70% and 60 ECTS including economics or business and statistics or mathematics. You apply on apply.unive.it, where €30 covers two ranked choices. For 2026/27 the portal opened on 17 December 2025; 2027/28 rounds are not yet out.

An eligibility letter leads to Universitaly pre-enrolment and a type D study visa. Enrolment needs a CIMEA Statement of Comparability, a declaration of value, an ARDI statement with CIMEA verification, or a Diploma Supplement.
