Entry requirements

Detailed entry requirements

Univpm's Digital Economics and Business bachelor asks for a secondary school diploma after 12 years of schooling, with a minimum score for some countries (75% in Class 12 for India), English at B2, a positive pre-evaluation for non-EU applicants and a non-selective maths and logic test. Reviewed 8 October 2026. [1]

School-leaving qualification

You need a secondary school diploma, or a qualification from abroad recognised as suitable, plus adequate initial preparation. There is no selective entrance exam. [1]

A foreign school qualification must come after at least 12 years of schooling. With 10 or 11 years, you must also show one or two completed integration years at a recognised higher education institution, such as a foundation year or a full first year of a bachelor's with all 60 ECTS earned. You upload marksheets or transcripts for at least your last two school years, with the grade scale. [2]

For this programme, Univpm's 2026/27 country list sets these entry rules: [3]

  • India: a Standard XII certificate, such as the CBSE AISSCE, the CISCE ISC, a state board Higher Secondary or Intermediate certificate or the NIOS Senior Secondary, with at least 75%.
  • Pakistan: HSSC, Intermediate certificate or DAE, with at least 70% and the IBCC QR code.
  • Bangladesh: HSC or Alim certificate, with grade A (70 to 100%) or grade point 4.
  • Sri Lanka: GCE Advanced Level with at least an Ordinary Pass (S) in three subjects and at least 30% in the Common General Test.
  • United Kingdom: three A level subjects relevant to the degree, each passed with at least grade E.

What this means for your school results

As a guide, based on the rule above:

  • Usually a fit: a Class 12 certificate with 75% or more, HSSC or Intermediate results of 70% or more, or an HSC with grade A, after 12 years of school.
  • Check carefully: results just at the minimum, or a Class 12 without maths. The rules do not require a stream, but the knowledge test covers school maths and logic.
  • Often short: results below your country's minimum, or a school-leaving certificate after 10 or 11 years without a foundation year or completed first university year.

English

English at CEFR level B2 is an entry requirement. [1]

The faculty's 2026 table lists the accepted certificates, including IELTS Academic or General 5.5, TOEFL iBT 69, PTE Academic 59, Cambridge English Scale 160, Duolingo 100, Trinity ISE II, LanguageCert B2 Communicator, Oxford Test of English 111 and Aptis B2. Certificates not on the list are not accepted. The table notes that some, such as Duolingo, may not be accepted for the visa, so we choose a certificate that works for both. [4]

Knowledge test

There is no selective entrance exam. New students take a non-selective online test of 20 multiple-choice questions in 30 minutes: 10 on logic and 10 on maths from the final years of secondary school. You pass with 8 correct answers, including at least one in each area, and you can repeat the test on every date offered. [1]

If you do not pass or do not sit it, you can still enrol, but you receive an additional learning requirement (OFA). You clear it with a later test, or by passing Mathematics or Principles of Economics by 10 August of the calendar year after enrolment. Otherwise you repeat the first year. [1]

You are exempt with an SAT taken in English, or with a TOLC-E, TOLC-I or CENT-S where you answered at least 40% of the maths and logic questions correctly, with at least one right answer in each module. [1]

2026/27 deadlines

For 2026/27, international students could request pre-evaluation for open-access programmes in three calls: 16 December 2025 to 30 January 2026, 1 March to 30 April 2026, and 8 to 30 June 2026. A fourth call, 1 to 31 July 2026, was open to listed nationalities, including India and Sri Lanka. Universitaly applications for visa students close on 30 November 2026, and enrolment opened from mid-July 2026. [2]

Pre-evaluation outcomes are valid only for 2026/27. The 2027/28 calls are not yet published. [2]

Pre-evaluation and visa documents

Non-EU applicants who need a visa apply for pre-evaluation on Univpm's portal, for up to two programmes. The outcome can take at least 45 days. [2]

After a positive outcome, you submit Universitaly pre-enrolment, and visa applicants receive the pre-admission letter once Univpm validates it. For the embassy, Univpm lists these academic documents: [2]

  • Your diploma and marksheets in the original language, with a sworn translation into English or Italian.
  • A CIMEA comparability statement, or a declaration of value from the Italian embassy or consulate.
  • A CIMEA verification statement, or an apostille or legalisation.
  • A B2 English certificate.
  • A national university entrance exam certificate, where one is compulsory in your country.

About the programme

Digital Economics and Business is a three-year bachelor at the Giorgio Fuà Faculty of Economics of Marche Polytechnic University in Ancona. It is an interclass degree in L-18 (business) and L-33 (economics), worth 180 ECTS and taught entirely in English. Access is open, with no selective entrance exam.

The course joins economics and business knowledge with IT and database analysis skills, so graduates can use data to support decisions in firms and institutions. It suits school leavers who like numbers and want a business degree with a strong digital side.

What you will study

Years one and two are almost entirely compulsory, with one 6-credit choice in year two. In the third year, 33 credits of options let you steer your plan towards business or economics and finance. [1] Units include:

  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Principles of Economics
  • Business Economics and Accounting
  • Computing Fundamentals and Business Information Systems
  • Economic History of Technological Change
  • Industrial Economics and Business Management
  • IT Law Fundamentals and Labour Law
  • Third-year units in data analytics, marketing and international trade and finance, with options such as statistics and machine learning, financial mathematics, and finance and fintech applications

How the programme is taught

Almost every course includes lab hours and project work. You can earn up to 12 credits through an optional internship, and the degree ends with a short thesis. Exchanges run through Erasmus+ and the Campus World programme.

Career paths

The faculty designs the degree around three profiles:

  • Data-driven economic and financial analyst
  • Data-driven business analyst
  • Data analyst for economics and business

Fees and scholarships

Univpm uses an income-based system. For 2026/27, non-EU citizens of non-OECD or developing countries who do not request an ISEE parificato pay only the regional tax and stamp duty in the first year, so the degree can be tuition-free for eligible students. Later years follow the same rule, tied to credits earned. [6] Non-EU citizens of OECD countries submit an ISEE parificato or pay the course maximum. Regional scholarships are run by ERDIS Marche; the faculty reports that about 18.5% of applicants from this course received one in 2023/24.

How to apply from outside the EU

First, we request a pre-evaluation on Univpm's GoMoveIn portal, choosing up to two programmes. For 2026/27 the calls for open-access courses opened on 16 December 2025 and ran in rounds to 31 July 2026; replies can take at least 45 days. [2] After a positive outcome we pre-enrol you on Universitaly, and you apply for a type D study visa, with enrolment from mid July. For the visa, your diploma needs a CIMEA comparability statement or declaration of value, plus CIMEA verification, an apostille or legalisation. [2]

How ApplyAZ helps

ApplyAZ is an Italy-based consultancy that works only with public universities. We can include this programme in a shortlist of 20 to 30 English-taught programmes that fit your profile, so your plan never rests on a single application.

For eligible students who start with us, a named person owns each stage, from A to Z:

  • We check your school results against Univpm's entry rules for this programme.
  • We write your CV and a tailored statement of purpose.
  • We prepare and submit your pre-evaluation application, Universitaly pre-enrolment and enrolment.
  • We help you declare your family income for reduced fees and file your ERDIS Marche scholarship application at the right time and in the right format.
  • We prepare your visa file.

With operations in all 20 Italian regions, we follow each region's scholarship rules and deadlines as they change. The university decides admission, the region decides the scholarship and the consulate decides the visa, so no one can promise an outcome. You pay in milestones, and every service you pay for is either delivered or its fee is refunded (terms apply).

Programmes at Italian public universities can be tuition-free for eligible students. Check if you are eligible and book a one-to-one consultation session with one of our Italy experts, or see how ApplyAZ works.

Questions and answers

What school results do I need for Univpm's Digital Economics and Business?

A secondary school diploma after at least 12 years of schooling, with marksheets for your last two years. For this programme, Univpm sets minimum scores for some countries: 75% in Class 12 for India, 70% for Pakistan and grade A for Bangladesh. [3]

Is there an entrance exam?

No selective exam. You take a non-selective online test of 10 logic and 10 maths questions and pass with 8 correct. Failing it does not stop enrolment but adds a first-year requirement. An SAT taken in English or a qualifying TOLC exempts you. [1]

What English level is required? Do I need IELTS?

English at B2. IELTS is one option, at 5.5 or higher, Academic or General. The faculty also accepts TOEFL iBT 69, PTE Academic 59, Cambridge 160 and other listed certificates. Some, such as Duolingo, may not work for the visa, so we choose one that does. [4]

When is the deadline for non-EU students?

For 2026/27, pre-evaluation for open-access programmes ran in calls from 16 December 2025 to 30 June 2026, plus a July call for listed nationalities including India. The 2027/28 calls are not yet published, so we prepare your file before the first call opens. [2]

Can I apply before I get my Class 12 results?

Yes. The pre-evaluation form asks for the actual or expected date of your diploma, and you upload marksheets for at least your last two school years. Admission can then be conditional on your final certificate. [2]

I studied Commerce or Arts in Class 12 without maths. Can I apply?

The rules for India set a 75% minimum but no required stream. The knowledge test covers school maths and logic, so without maths in Class 12 you should prepare for it, or clear the extra requirement in your first year. [1][3]

Is the whole bachelor taught in English?

Yes. The 2026/27 regulation describes it as a three-year degree taught entirely in English, and the first year includes an advanced English unit at C1 level. [1][5]

How do fees work?

For 2026/27, non-EU citizens of non-OECD or developing countries who do not request an ISEE parificato pay only the regional tax and stamp duty in the first year, with later years tied to credits earned. Citizens of OECD countries present an ISEE parificato or pay the course maximum. [6]

Can someone handle my whole application to Digital Economics and Business at Univpm?

Yes. ApplyAZ, an Italy-based consultancy that works only with public universities, checks your school results against Univpm's rules for this programme, handles the application and Universitaly pre-enrolment, helps you file the ERDIS Marche scholarship application at the right time and in the right format, and prepares your visa file, for eligible students. Start by checking your eligibility.

I'm applying from India. What is the route into Digital Economics and Business?

Indian applicants need a Class 12 certificate, such as CBSE, CISCE (ISC), a state board or NIOS, after 12 years of schooling, with at least 75% for this programme, plus English at B2. The steps are a pre-evaluation application with your Class 11 and 12 marksheets, Universitaly pre-enrolment and the pre-admission letter. [3] Indian students apply for the type D study visa at the Italian embassy or consulate that covers their state, such as New Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru.

Is the route different from Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka?

No. The academic rules for Digital Economics and Business are the same whatever your nationality. Applicants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka follow the same steps as India: pre-evaluation application, Universitaly pre-enrolment and the pre-admission letter, then a type D study visa from the Italian mission for their country of residence. Read our guide for students in Dhaka.

I live in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman or Bahrain. Where do I apply for the visa?

At the Italian embassy or consulate responsible for the country where you legally live, after Universitaly pre-enrolment. The academic rules for Digital Economics and Business are the same whatever your nationality, and Gulf residents follow the same steps: pre-evaluation application, Universitaly pre-enrolment and the pre-admission letter. Read our guides for Dubai, Riyadh and Doha.

I studied or live in London, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. What is the route?

The academic rules for Digital Economics and Business are the same whatever your nationality, and your school results are assessed like any other foreign qualification. Non-EU applicants who live abroad follow the same route: pre-evaluation application, Universitaly pre-enrolment and the pre-admission letter, then a type D study visa from the Italian mission for where they live. Read our guides for students in London, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
