Degree and credit requirements
You need a three-year bachelor's degree, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable. The regulation accepts one of these routes: [1]
- Degree class: an Italian bachelor's in industrial engineering (class L-9, or class X under the older system), or a foreign qualification judged suitable.
- Credit route: at least 36 CFU in basic subjects, namely mathematics, physics, computer science, information processing systems, and physical, general and inorganic, industrial or applied chemistry, plus 18 CFU in industrial engineering subjects (the ING-IND sectors).
Missing credits, out of the 54 required, must be made up before enrolment by passing single course units. Holders of foreign degrees must request a pre-evaluation and can enrol only if their qualification is judged to meet these requirements. [1]
What this means for your transcript
Italian CFU and the credits on a foreign transcript are not the same unit: one CFU stands for 25 hours of student work, and the committee looks at your subjects, not just your total. As a guide, based on the rule above:
- Usually a fit: a B.Tech or B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Production or Industrial Engineering, which normally pairs maths, physics, chemistry and computing with industrial engineering units.
- Check carefully: a B.Tech or B.E. in Civil, Electronics or Computer Science Engineering, or a B.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry, often covers the 36 basic credits but can lack the 18 credits in industrial engineering subjects.
- Often short: a BCA, B.Com, BBA or BA, which rarely includes enough maths, physics and chemistry or any industrial engineering units.

Native English speakers, applicants from countries where English is an official language and graduates of a degree taught entirely in English also meet the requirement, and we check how this applies to your file. Personal preparation check
Admission also depends on a check of your personal preparation. For this course it is an interview on your bachelor's thesis, held by a committee appointed by the Dean. The check counts as passed for applicants whose bachelor's final mark is above 85 out of 110. The regulation does not set a written entrance test. [1]

2026/27 pre-evaluation rounds
For 2026/27, Univpm ran these pre-evaluation rounds for international students: [2]
- 16 December 2025 to 30 January 2026, for all international students.
- 1 March to 30 April 2026, for all international students.
- 8 to 30 June 2026, for all international students.
- 1 to 31 July 2026, only for students from listed countries, including India.
The later round from 15 July 2026 was open to non-EU students needing a visa only for Medicine and Surgery. Enrolment opened in mid July 2026. The next call sets the 2027/28 dates. [2]

Each student can submit up to two pre-evaluation applications. After a positive reply, non-EU students who need a visa complete pre-enrolment on Universitaly to obtain the study visa. [2]

About the programme
Green Industrial Engineering is a two-year laurea magistrale in class LM-30 (energy and nuclear engineering), worth 120 ECTS. It is an interuniversity course of the Faculty of Engineering of Marche Polytechnic University, developed with the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, and lectures are held on site in Pesaro, at Via Petrarca 18. Teaching is entirely in English, and the reference department is the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences. [1] The course was designed in close cooperation with companies working in international markets.
It deepens a bachelor's in engineering with advanced knowledge of traditional energy engineering and newer fields linked to the energy transition, plus data analysis, cyber security and energy and environmental policy. It suits engineers who want to work on renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable production.

The first year gives everyone a common base in energy systems, sustainable energy, smart grids, data science and energy, environment and economy policy. In the second year you choose a curriculum: Sustainable Manufacturing, on energy efficiency in final and industrial uses, or Sustainable Energy Transition, on generation, distribution, storage and demand of energy in all its forms. How the programme is taught
Compulsory units form the core, and electives let you shape the technological, economic and environmental side of your plan. The internship, especially if you do it in a company, gives you direct contact with the working world. The course also prepares you to set up energy management systems for companies seeking ISO 50001 certification, in the role of energy management expert (EGE).

The faculty describes a broad job market for master's energy engineers, including:

Fees and scholarships
Enrolment is with Univpm, whose international FAQ sets fees by citizenship. Non-EU citizens of non-OECD countries who hold a study visa get a fixed rate, kept in later years if you reach the credit targets by 10 August.
