How much does the University of L'Aquila cost in 2026/27?
The University of L'Aquila costs from €156 (₹17,000) a year in the no-tax area to €1,756 (₹1.9 lakh) at the top band for every degree in 2026/27. The yearly contribution depends on family income, measured by the ISEE, and study can be tuition-free for eligible students who win a DSU scholarship.
| Who pays what, 2026/27 | Yearly total | How it is set |
|---|
| ISEE-U below €24,000 (no-tax area) | €156 (₹17,000) | Contribution (COA) €0; only the €140 regional tax and €16 stamp duty, paid 18 July to 31 October 2026. From the second year, 10 credits and then 25 credits are also needed |
| ISEE-U €24,000 to €31,999 | By formula | €80 plus 10% of the ISEE-U above €24,000, plus €156. Example (derived): an ISEE-U of €28,000 pays €636 (₹70,000) |
| ISEE-U €32,000 to €44,999 | By formula | €880 plus 4.5% of the ISEE-U above €32,000, plus €156, so €1,036 (₹1.1 lakh) at €32,000 (derived) |
| ISEE-U €45,000 to €59,999 | By formula | €1,465 plus 0.9% of the ISEE-U above €45,000, plus €156, so €1,621 (₹1.8 lakh) at €45,000 (derived) |
| ISEE-U €60,000 or more, or no ISEE-U 2026 | €1,756 (₹1.9 lakh) | €1,600 maximum contribution plus €156 (derived); the maximum is assigned automatically without an ISEE-U 2026, for every degree |
| ADSU L'Aquila scholarship winners and eligible students | €156 (₹17,000) | Exempt from the contribution; the €140 regional tax and €16 stamp duty are still paid at enrolment |
Students from the particularly poor countries in MUR Decree 176 of 2026, which does not list India, pay at the lowest band. The contribution is paid in up to three instalments between 31 January and 31 May 2027.

Students living abroad, or dependent on a family abroad, can file an ISEE-U parificato with the university's student contributions office by 20 December 2026, and the normal formula then applies. There is no flat fee by country, and without an ISEE-U 2026 the maximum of €1,756 (₹1.9 lakh) applies. Source: L'Aquila fee guide 2026/27, sections 3.2.2 and 5.2.
Worked example: With a family ISEE-U parificato of €15,000 filed by 20 December 2026, a first-year student from India pays €156 (₹17,000) in 2026/27, because €15,000 is inside the no-tax area. Without it, the maximum applies automatically at €1,756 (₹1.9 lakh), so the ISEE-U parificato route never costs more and is cheaper for any family ISEE-U below €60,000 (derived). We prepare the ISEE-U parificato documents with you and file them with the university, and we check ADSU L'Aquila's 2026/27 call before preparing any scholarship application with you.

For the study visa, the consulate asks you to show at least €10,179.85 (₹11.2 lakh) a year for living costs in L'Aquila or any other Italian city. That is a floor, not a full budget: rent is the biggest cost, and a DSU residence place is much cheaper than a private room.

Reality check
- The call comes early. For 2026/27 the pre-selection for the 11 English-taught international master's closed on 25 February 2026, five months before the Universitaly deadline.
- Every English-taught option is a master's. We list 15 English-taught programmes at L'Aquila, all two-year master's, and the university's international students page lists no English-taught bachelor's.
- Documents decide the fee. With an ISEE-U parificato filed by 20 December 2026, an ISEE of €15,000 means €156 (₹17,000); without one, the maximum of €1,756 (₹1.9 lakh) applies.
- Italian still matters. Italian-taught degrees ask for a B2 Italian certificate or the CISIA online Italian test, and daily life and internships need it too.
What we handle: the shortlist, the fee route, the income documents, the programme applications, the Universitaly pre-enrolment, the visa file and any ADSU L'Aquila application the call allows, prepared with you. The university decides admission, ADSU L'Aquila decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.
How does ApplyAZ handle applications to the University of L'Aquila?

We shortlist programmes against your profile and their entry tests, prepare the documents and the family's income papers, file each programme application, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment, handle the visa file and prepare any ADSU L'Aquila scholarship application the call allows with you.
We work only with Italian public universities, and we do not promise outcomes: the university decides admission, ADSU L'Aquila decides the DSU scholarship and the consulate decides the visa.
