Degree requirement
You need a bachelor's degree that the committee deems suitable, in economics, marketing, business administration or management, obtained before you submit your application. You also need basic knowledge of business administration, marketing, management, economics, statistics and mathematics, and private law, and personal preparation, training or work experience that relates to this master's. The call for non-EU applicants does not set minimum credits per subject: the committee judges your degree from your transcript and an English outline of each exam. Applicants with an Italian qualification, EU citizens and non-EU applicants legally resident in Italy follow a separate call. [1]
What this means for your transcript
Your degree title and the subjects on your transcript both matter. As a guide, based on the rule above:
- Usually a fit: a B.Com, BBA or BBM, or a BA or B.Sc. in Economics, with courses across business, marketing, management, economics, statistics and law.
- Check carefully: a business or economics degree with little statistics, maths or law, or very few marketing and management courses.
- Often short: a B.Tech, B.E., BCA or B.Sc. in a science subject, because the call asks for a degree in economics, marketing, business administration or management.
English
English at CEFR level B2 is essential. You can show it with an international language certificate, a declaration from your home university's language centre or department on official letterhead in English, or a certificate that your bachelor's degree was taught in English. The call does not list minimum test scores. Only applicants who submit suitable English proof are considered, and the board may invite even native speakers to an interview. [1]
IT skills
You need the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL, basic level) or other documents showing your computer skills, if they are not part of your degree programme. [1]
Selection and ranking
There is no written test. A committee from the Marco Biagi Department of Economics ranks applicants on merit from their documents. It scores your study qualification and background, using your CGPA or final mark and your IT skills, up to 90 points, and also assesses your personal statement in English and your reference letter, for a final score out of 100. For 2026/27, the top 99 applicants with at least 78/100 were admitted, plus one place for the winner of the UNICORE university corridors for refugees. Applicants below 78/100 are not admitted. Ties go to the higher study background score, then to the younger applicant. You may be invited to an online interview. [1]
2026/27 deadlines
The online application ran from 10 January 2026 to 1 March 2026, extended from 20 February. The ranking list was due by 15 April 2026, and enrolment runs from 8 July to 22 December 2026. Applications for fee exemptions and other ER.GO benefits were due by the end of August 2026. The 2027/28 call is not yet published. [1]

About the programme
International Management is a two-year master's degree (laurea magistrale, class LM-77, business and economics) worth 120 ECTS, taught entirely in English by the Marco Biagi Department of Economics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Unimore) in Modena.
It trains graduates to take managerial and operational roles in the international growth of companies, institutions and organisations.

How the programme is taught
Alongside lectures, the plan includes a Business Planning unit and MeetTheManagers, a unit built around encounters with company managers, and the department lists company visits such as Ikea and Tetrapak.
You can add an optional internship to the final dissertation, which carries no extra credits.

Fees and scholarships
Unimore charges tuition according to family income.
Non-EU students whose income and assets are entirely abroad can opt for a flat tax: Unimore applies a fixed Country ISEE based on their home country's GDP per capita at purchasing power parity, and students from low-income countries go into the lowest band. [3]
For 2026/27, visa applicants had to apply online on the ER.GO website by the end of August 2026 for fee exemptions and other benefits. Those who do not apply pay the full fees. [1]
ER.GO scholarship holders are fully exempt from the all-inclusive fee, so International Management can be tuition-free for eligible students.
