CEnT-S is expressly non-selective and optional for enrolment; low section scores or no test result create Additional Learning Requirements, OFA. School diploma, 12-year education and country access test
Hold a recognised suitable school-leaving qualification normally after at least 12 years of education. If the awarding system requires a national/special university entrance examination, provide the pass certificate, for example where Gaokao, YKS or ENEM is applicable. For shorter schooling, supply the prescribed completed one/two university years, post-secondary qualification or foundation-course evidence for evaluation. These supplementary documents must establish the actual missing education, not just enrolment in another course. [1, 2]
Academic evaluation: subjects, performance and diploma recency
The committee evaluates how the final three school years align with biotechnology, relevant Chemistry/Physics/Biology grades and overall academic performance. The page gives pre-medical studies as a generally relevant example and warns that humanities, engineering, computing, mathematics or commercial study backgrounds may not meet the programme’s requirements. English B2: certificate age, scores and exemptions
An English certificate must have been obtained no more than five years before submission, measured from the examination date. The current B2 table lists Cambridge FCE, Trinity ISE II, IELTS Academic 5.5-6.5, TOEFL iBT 72-94, PTE Academic 59-75, LanguageCert Academic B2 and EF SET 51-60; higher-level certificates are also tabulated. The course exempts its specifically listed native-English country/territory applicants, holders of a fully English-taught diploma/degree with formal MOI or English proficiency letter, and IB holders including English as a Second Language among the tested subjects. CEnT-S: optional and non-selective, with three section minima
Basic Biology, Chemistry and Logic preparation is assessed through CISIA CEnT-S. The course page expressly allows enrolment without taking or passing the test; the result does not determine exclusion from the degree. For avoiding the specified OFA, the page requires at least two correct Biology answers, two Chemistry answers and two Reasoning on Texts and Data answers. These are separate minima for each section, not two correct answers overall. [1]
A shortfall assigns the corresponding section’s OFA; enrolment without a test assigns all OFA. The page describes recognised test results as valid for three years before application and mentions affiliated centres/remote mode; we book through the current CISIA session arrangements. How OFA are cleared
Clear the assigned OFA by the third ordinary examination period in the enrolment year, the June-July summer session. Pass the remedial test or the corresponding curricular examination: Cytology and Histology addresses Biology plus Reasoning on Texts and Data; Laboratory of Basic Chemical Methodologies addresses Chemistry. Application documents, optional records and conditional eligibility
The preliminary application needs passport main page, or national ID for eligible EU/equivalent applicants; the school diploma in the prescribed language/translation/authentication form; official transcript; any shorter-schooling completion evidence; any country access-examination certificate; and B2 or documented exemption evidence. Applicants still studying or awaiting the final award may submit provisional documents for preliminary evaluation. A conditional pre-acceptance is incomplete until the missing final documents are verified, and originals are required at final registration. The course requires DOV, CIMEA or ARDI under the applicable final-document route. Outcomes are eligible, conditionally eligible or not eligible; pre-acceptance does not issue a visa. [1]
2026 calendar, visa and final registration
The course describes committee evaluation between February and September 2026 and possible early closure. The central guide says preliminary remote evaluation has no fixed general deadline, but the course committee can stop accepting new October applications earlier. The guide gives Universitaly/visa applications April-30 November and ordinary open-access degree enrolment 1 July-5 November 2026, with any late registration subject to the actual university rule. These later administrative dates do not mean the course assessment is still open. [1, 2]
Visa applicants submit the correct 2026/27 Universitaly pre-enrolment and apply to the consulate after university validation. Final enrolment takes place in the online secretariat with the required payment and original documents, Italian tax code, applicable residence-permit/application receipt and health cover. Italian/EU/EU-equivalent applicants use their appropriate direct-registration procedure. No 2027/28 course calendar is established by these documents. [1, 2]

About the programme
Biotechnology is a three-year bachelor's degree (laurea, class L-2) worth 180 ECTS, run by the Department of Bioscience and Agro-Food and Environmental Technology of the University of Teramo. This English edition is a separate degree course from the Italian-taught Biotechnology bachelor, and it is delivered at Campus Aurelio Saliceti in Teramo with open access.
The focus is red biotechnology: new technologies and products for healthcare and pharmaceuticals. It suits students with a solid school grounding in biology and chemistry who want lab skills and an international outlook from the first year.

You study living systems from viruses and bacteria to cultured cells and model organisms, with a strong thread of chemistry, genetics and data analysis. Units in the 2026/27 plan include:

How the programme is taught
The year runs in two semesters, roughly October to mid-January and March to mid-June, with a winter exam session in February. Labs are built into most units, often with individual workstations. International students take a 3 ECTS Italian language unit in year one, and everyone completes an internship in university labs or in partner companies and research institutes before a short final exam.

The university prepares graduates to enter the job market directly or move on to a master's degree in biomedical or pharmaceutical biotechnology. Typical settings include:

For 2026/27, students whose family income and assets are only abroad pay a flat contribution by World Bank group instead of an ISEE-based fee: €50 (low-income countries), €300 (middle-income, including countries like India) or €600 (high-income), plus €140 regional tax and €16 stamp duty. A valid ISEE-U replaces the flat rate. After enrolling you can apply to ADSU Teramo, whose calls usually open in July, so the degree can be tuition-free for eligible students.
