Mechatronics Engineering is a two-year, 120 ECTS master's degree (class LM-25) taught in English by the University of Padua in Vicenza, combining mechanical, electrical and computer engineering with three specialisation paths. Entry requirements
- A bachelor's degree of at least three years (or equivalent), preferably in mechatronics, industrial (mechanical or electrical) or information (electronics or computer science) engineering; other engineering degrees can qualify.
- Prior study of control systems theory, mechanics of machinery, electrical science, electronics, electric machines and drives (or actuators) and computer programming.
- A final grade that meets the country-based entry requirements the university publishes for 2027/28.
- English at B2 level of the CEFR, shown by a certificate on the university's accepted list unless an exemption applies.
- No entrance test: selection on GPA, transcript and CV; the admission committee may ask you to an interview if it has questions about your preparation.

The degree gives engineers solid, design-oriented knowledge across electrical, computer and mechanical engineering. The path lets you lean towards machine design and industrial automation, towards electric drives and energy conversion, or towards modelling and control theory.
Career paths
Graduates work mainly in electromechanical, mechanical and electronics companies with advanced automation departments, and can also continue into a PhD or industrial research. The university lists the design and manufacture of:

Fees and scholarships
Mechatronics Engineering is a School of Engineering degree, so it sits in fee Group B. For 2026/27, non-EU students whose family is not resident in Italy pay a fixed €2,990 a year; citizens of countries on the ministry's list of particularly poor countries pay €996.66. The ISEE parificato affects only the regional tax. Students who win the Veneto regional scholarship are exempt, giving zero euro tuition for eligible students, and international applicants are considered for merit fee waivers without a separate application. The committee assesses your GPA, transcript and CV against the required subjects and may invite you to an interview. Apply on apply.unipd.it with your degree certificate, transcript, CV, motivation letter and English certificate, paying the €60 fee; documents do not need legalising yet. Non-EU applicants living abroad can apply from 15 September to 15 November 2026 or from 1 December 2026 to 1 March 2027.
After admission you accept the place with a non-refundable €208 fee, complete Universitaly pre-enrolment and apply for a type D study visa. Legalised, apostilled or CIMEA-verified documents are due by 31 August 2027, and classes start on 1 October 2027.
