The 90% preference used by IBD does not apply here. Pending-degree candidates may enter the assessment, but the required qualification must be obtained by September 2026 for enrolment under this international listing. Second stage: 20 questions in English over 30 minutes
The online test lasts 30 minutes and contains 20 multiple-choice questions randomly selected from the assessment pool. It covers statistics, machine learning, data analysis, economic/legal/computing/marketing aspects of data science and basic MATLAB/Python programming. Applicants who pass both academic eligibility and the test receive the Letter of Acceptance. [1]
The current listing schedules the test for 10 April 2026 and expressly states no other test dates are scheduled. This appointment is past as of 6 October. English B2: this course’s specific accepted certificates
- IELTS 5.5, obtained in 2019 or later; ETS TOEFL iBT 60, obtained in 2019 or later. These are the current DSM portal’s stated values, differing from other Parma portals’ TOEFL 69. [1]
- Cambridge First (FCE) or Business Vantage (BEC); Trinity ISE at least level II. [1]
- TOEIC must include Listening/Reading and Speaking/Writing: at least 275 Listening, 275 Reading, 160 Speaking and 150 Writing. [1]

English exemptions, interview and certificate completion
Exemptions cover native-English students and holders of a first/second-cycle degree issued and examined in English, with that condition shown on the qualification certificate. It also identifies passing an English examination in Italy with at least 28/30 as an alternative. A candidate without a listed certificate who believes their English adequate may request an assessment interview on the annually communicated dates. [1]
The portal permits enrolment without the certificate on condition that one of the indicated certificates is produced by the end of year one; otherwise year-two examinations are blocked. This expressly stated condition is different from permission to skip academic screening or the data-science test. The portal marks the 2026/27 application period ended, and the stated April test and September qualification deadline are past. DSM was not in the official six-course June second-intake list. Application file, language of documents and fees
We apply through the university’s admissions portal for the relevant international intake and upload the degree/academic record and course-specific evidence. The portal accepts academic records in English or Italian; we provide official translations and verified copies where necessary. Final enrolment with a foreign award requires original school and bachelor’s records with the prescribed diplomatic legalisation/Apostille, translations into Italian or English and the full university Transcript of Records. Any university-access examination certificate required in the awarding country is also needed. A Declaration of Value or CIMEA comparability is supplied under the university’s stated procedure; ARDI is accepted only under its specific country/document conditions, not as a universal replacement. Visa applicants must complete the applicable Universitaly pre-enrolment and consular study-visa process after academic acceptance. Final registration needs the passport, visa, residence permit/application receipt and official Italian tax code as applicable; self-generated online tax codes are not accepted. Later-arriving visa holders may be considered through 31 January 2027, subject to programme-specific deadlines and the university checking teaching progress and practical feasibility. This is a conditional administrative provision for admission/enrolment, not a new overseas selection round, and it does not secure late entry. About the programme
Data Science for Management is a two-year master's degree in the new class LM-Data, worth 120 ECTS and taught entirely in English in Parma. It is run by the Department of Economics and Management and started in 2025/26.
The course trains specialists who use mathematical, statistical and IT methods to manage, process and analyse data in companies, public administrations and research bodies. How the programme is taught
