What this means for your school results
The call sets no minimum grade and no required subject stream. Your place depends on your test score, and the test is mostly science. As a guide, based on the rule above:
- Usually a fit: Class 12 or Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, or A levels in Biology and Chemistry. These match the 51 science questions in the test. [1]
- Check carefully: Physics, Chemistry and Maths without Biology. Biology carries 23 of the 60 questions, and students admitted with under 50% in the basic subjects must take extra courses and an additional test in the first year. [1][2]
- Often short: commerce or arts streams with little science. You can sit the test, but competing for 10 places without biology and chemistry is hard.

The course is taught in English, but graduates must also gain oral and written Italian, both for clinical work and everyday use. The plan includes Italian 1 in the first year and Italian 2 in the second year, worth 2 credits each. [2][3]
Admission test
Admission is by a single national-format test prepared by CINECA, taken by both groups of applicants. [1]
- Format: 60 multiple-choice questions with five options each, in 100 minutes.
- Subjects: reading comprehension and prior knowledge (4 questions), logical reasoning and problem-solving (5), biology (23), chemistry (15), physics and mathematics (13).
- Scoring: 1.5 points for a correct answer, minus 0.4 for a wrong answer and 0 for a blank, up to 90 points. A score above zero makes you eligible for the ranking.
- Rankings: one for EU citizens and non-EU citizens living in Italy, and one for non-EU citizens living abroad. Ties are broken by the biology score first, then chemistry, physics and mathematics, logic and reading.
If one ranking runs out of eligible candidates after the third update, its unfilled places pass to the other group. [1]

- Places: 20 provisional places, 10 for non-EU citizens living abroad and 10 for EU citizens and non-EU citizens living in Italy.
- Registration: by 4 September 2026.
- Admission test: 17 September 2026 at 11:00, with candidates asked to arrive at 09:00.
- Rankings: published by 2 October 2026.
- Enrolment: 9 to 23 October 2026, with ranking updates from 30 October to early December 2026.
Documents and enrolment steps
Registration is online through the university's Concorsi on-line service, choosing category 997 for non-EU citizens living abroad. On test day you bring a valid identity document, the application receipt and the original payment receipt. [1]
To enrol, winners upload an identity document, an Italian tax code (codice fiscale), a photo, the signed enrolment application, the first fee payment receipt and the regional fee receipt, using course code B50. Late or incomplete uploads lose the place. [1]

About the programme
Nursing (Infermieristica in lingua inglese) is a three-year, 180 ECTS bachelor's degree (laurea, class L/SNT1) taught in English at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, within its School of Medicine and Surgery in Naples. How the programme is taught
Teaching runs in semesters, and attendance is compulsory: you must attend at least 75% of teaching activities, internship included, to sit exams. Internships take place under supervision in National Health Service facilities, and some units must be passed before others. Exams are marked out of 30. [2]
The final exam has qualifying value. It combines the discussion of an essay with a practical test in which you manage a care situation, before a commission that includes members of the nurses' professional association and the Ministry of Health. [2]
