About the programme
Economics with Data Science is a three-year bachelor's degree (laurea, class L-33, economics) worth 180 ECTS, offered in English by the Department of Economics and Law of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. Teaching takes place on the university campus just outside Cassino, a town between Rome and Naples that is easy to reach by train from both.

How the programme is taught
Alongside lectures, students are expected to spend time on an internship or on courses with the department's academic partners, including Erasmus study abroad. An internship can be requested after 100 ECTS; the study plan describes at least three months, with short courses in Excel financial formulas, index numbers and life tables as an alternative. Internships can also run inside university labs, such as the survey and data analysis lab and the TeSpaS lab for GIS.
Career paths
The department prepares graduates for two main roles. Economic data analysts find and process data to guide decisions in banks, insurers, consulting firms and public administrations, as well as research institutions and international organisations. Business data analysts build and manage data systems that support management choices in marketing, budgeting and investment, for local, national or international companies. Graduates can also continue to a master's in economics, data science or a related field.
Fees and scholarships
Tuition for non-Italian students at Cassino is a flat yearly amount set by the World Bank income group of your country: €600, €1,000 or €1,400, with a €16 stamp tax and a €140 regional tax on top. DiSCo Lazio, the regional student body, awards income-based scholarships covering a full fee waiver plus housing, meals and grants, so this programme can be tuition-free for eligible students.
How to apply from outside the EU
Without an Italian diploma, you apply for pre-admission on the university's GOMP portal with your transcript, CV, motivation letter, English certificate and passport, and pay a €15 fee by card. Applicants from countries like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh also provide their higher secondary certificate and transcripts for years 11 and 12. The committee replies by email within about 30 days.
