Single-cycle Master in Pharmacy at University of Bologna

About the programme

Pharmacy is a five-year single-cycle degree (laurea magistrale a ciclo unico, a combined bachelor's and master's) in class LM-13 R, Pharmacy and industrial pharmacy. It is run by the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology (FaBiT) on the University of Bologna's Rimini campus, is worth 300 ECTS and is delivered entirely in English. Access is restricted through the CEnT-S test, with 100 places, and Andrea Milelli is the degree programme director.

The university says the degree educates students directly to work as pharmacists and to face the different settings of other European countries, combining scientific expertise with patient interaction across the pharmaceutical supply chain. It suits students with a strong interest in chemistry, biology and health who want a professional degree taught in English.

What you will study

Teaching moves from the basic sciences, such as chemistry, biology, anatomy and human physiology, to medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and pharmaceutical technology, with bioethics, first aid, digital health and pharmaceutical care alongside. First-year units on the degree's timetable include:

How the programme is taught

The study plan includes a curricular internship. Students can also do internships at host institutions in other countries, join exchange programmes and carry out research for their final dissertation abroad.

Career paths

According to the university, graduates can work as pharmacists, act as healthcare education officers, dispense medicines and play a role in the public health service. The degree also opens jobs across the supply chain of drugs and health products.

Fees and scholarships

Pharmacy is in a higher fee band: for 2026/27 its maximum contribution is €3,060 a year on top of the fixed €157.04. With a family ISEE up to €27,000 only the €157.04 is charged, so eligible students get zero euro tuition. Non-OECD citizens whose family income is only abroad, from countries like India, can opt for a reduced flat fee of €1,000 plus €157.04. ER.GO, the Emilia-Romagna right-to-study body, awards scholarships, and its winners pay only €157.04.

How to apply from outside the EU

Selection uses the CEnT-S test. The yearly call sets the number of places, the places reserved for non-EU citizens living abroad, the ranking rules and the deadlines; the 2027/28 call is not yet published. You apply and enrol on Studenti Online.

After admission, file the Universitaly pre-enrolment if you need a visa. The consulate needs the university's unconditional validation, which is not given during the August closure, and proof of means of at least €10,179.85 (2026). Bring your school qualification with translation, legalisation and a declaration of value, and request a residence permit within eight days of arriving.
