About the programme

International Politics and Economics is a two-year laurea magistrale run by the Department of Political and Social Sciences (SPS) on the University of Bologna's Forlì campus. It is an interclass degree in LM-62 R, Political science, and LM-56 R, Economics, is worth 120 ECTS and is delivered entirely in English. Access is restricted, and Lorenzo Zambernardi is the degree programme director.

The degree works at the point where international politics meets the world economy. In the university's own words, it prepares specialists in international economic and financial policies, experts in trade relations with foreign countries and political risk specialists. What you will study

Teaching takes place in Forlì. The degree belongs to the university's international offer and has a double or multiple degree option, in which selected students also earn a degree from a partner university; details are on the degree website. Students can also apply for Erasmus+ and the university's other exchange schemes.

Fees and scholarships

This degree's maximum contribution for 2026/27 is €3,060 a year, higher than the €2,550 second-cycle standard, and every student also pays a fixed €157.04. What you pay depends on family income: an ISEE up to €27,000 means only the €157.04, which gives zero euro tuition for eligible students. Non-OECD citizens from countries like India whose family income is only abroad may pick a reduced flat fee of €1,200 plus €157.04. ER.GO runs the regional scholarship.

How to apply from outside the EU

Start with the degree's admission call, which sets the curricular requirements, the English level, the selection criteria, the places reserved for non-EU citizens living abroad and the windows. The 2027/28 call is not yet published. Applications run on Studenti Online.

After admission, submit the Universitaly pre-enrolment, which the university must validate before the consulate can issue your study visa; no validations are made during the August closure, and you need proof of means of at least €10,179.85 (2026). Enrol and pay the first instalment, have your translated degree and a document on its value checked at the campus office, and request a residence permit within eight days of arrival.
