Entry requirements

Detailed entry requirements

Salento's Digital Management bachelor asks for a recognised school-leaving qualification, with open access and no selection test, plus a non-binding online assessment test after enrolment. Non-EU applicants also need Universitaly pre-enrolment and a pass in the university's Italian language test. Reviewed 8 October 2026. [1]

School-leaving requirement

You need an Italian upper secondary school diploma, or a qualification obtained abroad that is recognised as suitable under current rules and ministerial guidelines. [1]

The call also expects basic knowledge of logic, English, general culture and mathematics, based on upper secondary school programmes. It sets no minimum grade and no school subject rule. [1]

What this means for your school results

Access is open, so places are not ranked on school marks. As a guide, based on the rule above:

  • Usually a fit: Class 12 or Higher Secondary results that give university access in your country, such as CBSE, ISC or a state board in India, or the HSC in Pakistan or Bangladesh.
  • Check carefully: a school-leaving certificate from a shorter school system, or one that gives only limited university access at home, since it must be recognised as suitable under Italian ministerial guidelines.
  • Often short: a Class 10 certificate, or a vocational diploma that does not give access to university in your country.

Maths matters after enrolment: the assessment test has seven maths and seven logic questions, and a weak result there adds an extra maths requirement in the first year. [1]

English and Italian

The call sets no CEFR level and names no English certificate. It expects basic English at upper secondary school level, which the assessment test checks with seven questions. [1]

Non-EU applicants who pre-enrol on Universitaly and hold the required qualification must pass the University of Salento's Italian language test. The call makes this a condition for taking the assessment test, and dates and any exemptions are published separately. [1]

Assessment test after enrolment

Access is open: there is no selection test and no ranking. Every new student must take an online test of initial preparation, and the result does not affect enrolment. [1]

  • Format: 30 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes: 7 maths, 7 logic, 7 English and 9 general culture, each with four options. A correct answer scores 1 point; a wrong or blank answer scores 0.
  • When: you are enabled for the test on the university's e-learning platform within 10 days of enrolling, which includes paying the first fee instalment.
  • Pass mark: at least 10 points in total, with at least 7 in maths and logic and at least 3 in the other subjects.
  • Below the pass mark: you still study on the degree, but you get an additional learning requirement (OFA) in mathematical methods for economics (SECS-S/06), to clear within the first year. Skipping the test also leads to an OFA, and the recovery test can be retaken at least 30 days apart.

2026/27 deadlines

These dates come from the 2026/27 call. Non-EU applicants living abroad who need a study visa had to complete Universitaly pre-enrolment by 20 July 2026. Once the university validates the application, the study visa request at the Italian mission in the country of residence is due by 30 November 2026. [1]

The 2027/28 call is not yet published and will set the new dates.

Documents and non-EU steps

For non-EU applicants living abroad, the 2026/27 call sets these steps: [1]

  • An online application through the university's international admissions procedure.
  • Universitaly pre-enrolment, then validation by the University of Salento.
  • A study visa from the Italian mission in your country of residence. The visa is a condition for enrolment.
  • A pass in the university's Italian language test.
  • Online enrolment on the student portal, completed by paying the first fee instalment through pagoPA.

For income-based fee reductions in 2026/27, students need an ISEE-DSU 2026 certificate for university study benefits, requested by 31 December 2026. [1]

Joining a later year

Applicants with earlier university study can ask for credit recognition. Entry to the second year needs at least 16 recognised CFU in the study plan's compulsory subject areas, and entry to the third year at least 48. For 2026/27 the recognition form is due by 17 October 2026, before enrolment. [1]

About the programme

Digital Management (Management Digitale) is a three-year bachelor's degree at the University of Salento in Lecce, in class L-18-R, worth 180 ECTS and run by the Department of Economic Sciences. Access is open: there is no selection test, but every new student takes a non-binding online assessment test after enrolling. [1] The university lists the teaching languages as Italian and English.

The first two years are common to all students and build knowledge in business, economics, mathematics, statistics and law applied to digital innovation. In the third year you choose one of two curricula: Economics, which the university states is entirely taught in English, or Management. Before you apply, we check which first and second year courses you can take in English. [2]

What you will study

  • Common courses: Business Administration, Principles of Economics, Mathematics for Company Decisions, Data Statistics and Analysis, Digital Technologies, Digital and Fintech Bank, Big Data, Economy of Innovation, Financial and Corporate Reporting and Foundations of Law of Technological Innovation, with a workshop with companies and a 6 ECTS internship.
  • Economics curriculum: Machine Learning in Management, Public Policy and the Digital Economy, Corporate Banking and Financing Innovation, and Information and Business Economics.
  • Management curriculum: E-business Models, Financing at Start Up, Business Intelligence Systems, and Process and Technology for Digital Transformation.

Career paths

The university points graduates towards roles as information acquisition technicians, such as information brokers and commercial information consultants, as well as financial management technicians and marketing technicians. AlmaLaurea data for this degree show that about three in four graduates continue to a master's degree within a year of graduating.

Fees and scholarships

Tuition at the University of Salento depends on family income, declared through an ISEE. Students within the normal length of study with an ISEE of €22,000 or less pay no tuition, so this programme can be tuition-free for eligible students. Under the 2026/27 rules, income-based reductions need an ISEE-DSU 2026 certificate for university study benefits, requested by 31 December 2026. [1] Eligible students can apply for a scholarship from ADISU Puglia, which decides awards each year, and scholarship winners also receive a tuition waiver.

How to apply from outside the EU

Non-EU applicants living abroad who need a study visa apply online and through pre-enrolment on Universitaly, the national portal. For 2026/27, pre-enrolment closed on 20 July 2026. Once the University of Salento validates the application, the study visa request at the Italian mission in the country of residence is due by 30 November 2026, and the visa is a condition for enrolment. [1]

The 2026/27 call also requires non-EU applicants who pre-enrolled to pass the university's Italian language test before the assessment test, with dates and exemptions set separately. The 2027/28 dates are not yet published, and we check the calendar and any Italian test exemption for you before you apply. [1]

  • We write your CV and a tailored statement of purpose.
  • We prepare and submit your online application and Universitaly pre-enrolment.

Questions and answers

What school results do I need for Digital Management at Salento?

A secondary school diploma, or a foreign school-leaving qualification recognised as suitable under Italian rules and ministerial guidelines. The call also expects basic logic, English, general culture and maths at secondary school level, and it does not set a minimum grade. [1]

Is there an entrance exam?

No selection test: access is open. After enrolling, every new student takes a 60-minute online test of 30 questions in maths, logic, English and general culture. You can study whatever the result, but a low score adds an extra maths requirement (OFA) to clear in the first year. [1]

Is Digital Management at Salento taught in English?

Partly. The university lists Italian and English as teaching languages, and the third-year Economics curriculum is taught entirely in English. The 2026/27 call also requires non-EU applicants to pass an Italian language test, so we check which courses you can take in English. [1][2]

What English level is required? Do I need IELTS?

The 2026/27 call sets no English level and asks for no IELTS or other certificate. It expects basic English at secondary school level, which the assessment test checks with seven questions. Non-EU applicants must also pass the university's Italian language test. [1]

When is the deadline for non-EU students?

For 2026/27, non-EU applicants living abroad had until 20 July 2026 to pre-enrol on Universitaly, and validated applicants must request the study visa by 30 November 2026. The 2027/28 dates are not yet published. [1]

I studied Commerce or Arts in Class 12. Can I still apply?

Yes, the call sets no school subject rule. It does expect maths at secondary school level, and the assessment test has seven maths and seven logic questions. Fewer than 7 points across those two adds an extra maths requirement in the first year. [1]

Which curricula can I choose?

After two common years you choose Economics, taught entirely in English, or Management. Economics covers machine learning in management, public policy and the digital economy, and banking innovation; Management covers e-business models, start-up financing and digital transformation. [2]

Can someone handle my whole application to Digital Management at Salento?

Yes. ApplyAZ, an Italy-based consultancy that works only with public universities, checks your school results against Salento's rules for this programme, handles the application and Universitaly pre-enrolment, helps you file the ADISU Puglia scholarship application at the right time and in the right format, and prepares your visa file, for eligible students. Start by checking your eligibility.

I'm applying from India. What is the route into Digital Management?

The call asks for a school-leaving qualification recognised as suitable under Italian rules, with no subject rule, so we check your Class 12 results from CBSE, ISC or a state board against it. Non-EU applicants must also pass the university's Italian language test. [1] Indian students apply for the type D study visa at the Italian embassy or consulate that covers their state, such as New Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru.

Is the route different from Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka?

No. The academic rules for Digital Management are the same whatever your nationality. Applicants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka follow the same steps as India: online application, Universitaly pre-enrolment, the university's validation and its Italian language test, then a type D study visa from the Italian mission for their country of residence. I live in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman or Bahrain. Where do I apply for the visa?
