About the programme
Biosciences and Biotechnology is a three-year bachelor's degree (laurea) worth 180 ECTS, run by the School of Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Camerino.
It is an interclass degree: one course that leads either to class L-13 (biological sciences) or to class L-2 (biotechnology), depending on the curriculum you choose.

- Third-year units such as Physiology and Fundamentals of Pathology (12 ECTS), Clinical Biochemistry, and Stem Cells and Clinical Applications
- Laboratory I and Laboratory II, an internship (5 ECTS) and a final test
How the programme is taught
Attendance is not compulsory, although the school strongly recommends it. In the first and second years every student takes practical laboratory courses, with shared and curriculum-specific paths.
Both curricula end with an internship in a research laboratory, an institution or a company, which can be done inside Unicam, at an outside organisation or abroad.

The school describes jobs that need familiarity with the scientific method and with methods based on biological systems.
Graduates of the biotechnology track work in technical roles in industrial, environmental, pharmaceutical and healthcare settings; graduates of the biology track work in research laboratories and companies using cell biology, genetics and molecular biology.
