Degree and credit requirements

You need a bachelor's or three-year university degree, or a qualification obtained abroad and recognised as eligible. These rules come from the programme's undated admission page. [1]

• Direct admission: Italian degrees in class L-15 (tourism sciences), L-12 or L-3 (linguistic mediation), L-11 (modern languages and cultures), or L-1 or L-13 (cultural heritage). [1]
• Other degrees: at least 40 CFU in the course's core fields: management (SECS-P/08), geography and economic geography (M-GGR/01 and 02), museology and art criticism, and film, photography and television (L-ART/04 and 06), sociology of environment and territory (SPS/10), and French, Spanish or German language (L-LIN/04, 07 and 14). • Related fields that also count: applied economics (SECS-P/06), English literature (L-LIN/10), anthropology (M-DEA/01), commercial law (IUS/04) and EU law (IUS/14). [1]

You must meet all curricular requirements before the commission assesses your personal preparation, and graduates of foreign universities are selected by a commission of the course. Bergamo also states that a general bachelor's from India or Pakistan does not give access to a master's: an honours bachelor's is needed. [1][2][4]

What this means for your transcript

Italian CFU and the credits on a foreign transcript are not the same unit, and the commission reads your subjects, not just your total. As a guide, based on the rule above:

• Usually a fit: an honours degree in tourism, travel and tourism management, geography, or French, Spanish or German, where most courses sit in the listed fields.
• Check carefully: an honours BBA, B.Com (Hons), BA (Hons) Economics or BA (Hons) English, which can count management, applied economics, commercial law or English literature credits but may not reach 40 in the listed fields.
• Often short: a three-year general BA, B.Com or BBA from India or Pakistan, because Bergamo states that a general bachelor's does not give access; also a B.Tech, BCA or science degree with few courses in these fields.

English at CEFR level B2, spoken and written. The programme accepts at least 9 CFU of English (L-LIN/12) in your first degree or an equivalent certificate, such as Cambridge First, TOEFL 72 or IELTS 5.5. [1]

Selection

There is no written entrance test. The teaching staff hold an interview to review your background in sustainable tourism, following WTO principles, and your fluency in English, and to confirm admission. The programme page says the next interview dates will be published. [2]

In the non-EU pre-evaluation, the interview is held online. [4]

Deadlines

For 2026/27, Bergamo ran two pre-evaluation calls for free-access master's such as this one and published a ranking of eligible students for each. [4]

For 2027/28 entry, the pre-evaluation page, which the university marks as to be updated, lists a first call from November 2026 to January 2027, online interviews in February and March 2027 and results by 31 March 2027. A second call follows in January 2027, with interviews in March and April 2027 and results within April 2027. [4]

For 2026/27, applicants who had not yet graduated could apply to free-access master's if they expected to graduate by 30 June 2026, with a certificate from their university stating the expected date. [3]

Documents and non-EU steps

Non-EU applicants with a bachelor's from outside Italy must have their qualification checked by Bergamo before enrolment, through an online pre-evaluation on DreamApply with a €30 fee. You can make up to two applications. [4]

The 2026/27 checklist lists five compulsory documents, and an application missing any of them is rejected: [3]

• Bachelor's degree certificate translated into English or Italian
• Official transcript of the last three or four years, translated, or a Diploma Supplement
• English certificate at B2, or a medium of instruction certificate
