Entry requirements

Healthcare Management is a two-year master's degree (laurea magistrale, class LM-77, business and economics) worth 120 ECTS at Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro (UMG). It opened in 2026/27 and is taught entirely in English. The Department of Law, Economics and Sociology (DiGES) runs it together with the School of Medicine and Surgery, on the Salvatore Venuta university campus in Catanzaro.
The degree trains managers for public and private health organisations, with attention to health and social care services, international organisations, insurance and the pharmaceutical industry. How the programme is taught
Lectures are combined with workshops on leadership, communication and change management, and with hands-on learning in the field. The university works closely with the Renato Dulbecco University Hospital (AOU R. Dulbecco), which gives students direct contact with how a hospital is run.
The study plan includes a compulsory internship in public or private health organisations. The university also plans to involve visiting professors from abroad, and students can spend a period abroad through Erasmus.
Career paths
Graduates are prepared for management and leadership roles in hospitals, local health authorities and research hospitals, in consultancies and in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industry. The university also points to careers at public regulators, national and international health agencies such as the World Health Organization, and research centres. Fees and scholarships
Tuition at UMG is set each year by its fee regulation (Regolamento Tasse Universitarie 2026/27). As at other Italian state universities, the amount depends on family income declared through the ISEE, or the ISEE parificato for income earned abroad. Right-to-study scholarships and meal services for UMG students are awarded through the yearly call of Fondazione UMG, so this programme can be tuition-free for eligible students.

Start with the department's own checks: send the course secretariat your list of exams, subject codes and credits so they can confirm you meet the entry requirements, and prepare a B2 English certificate. Admission then includes an online interview on your knowledge and motivation.
UMG publishes the degrees and places reserved for non-EU students each year, together with the Ministry's instructions (for 2026/27, from May 2026). Is the Master in Healthcare Management taught in English?
