ApplyAZ began with a lived experience, not a business plan. One Canadian woman left home for Rome, earned a Master's degree in Finance, and later joined the United Nations. Then she built a company so the next person would never have to figure it out without help.
Act I - The Leap
In 2015, she traded Canada for a city that did not know her name.
Paris Kor left for Italy with ambition, determination and the kind of quiet courage that looks like recklessness only from the outside. She enrolled at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome and pursued a Master's in Finance, taught entirely in English.
She found her own apartment. She navigated her own paperwork. She sat alone in government offices, deciphered bureaucracy in Italian, and figured out a foreign healthcare system with no one ahead of her to ask. None of this was glamorous. All of it was formative.
The hardest part was not the language, the paperwork, or finding an apartment in a city of strangers. The hardest part was choosing to go at all. Staying was easier. The known was right there. That choice is what ApplyAZ was built to honor.
After her degree, she was offered a position at the United Nations in Rome. Not because of where she was from. Because of who she had become. The leap had worked. And it had reshaped every standard she carried: for ambition, for independence, and for what she believed students like her actually deserved from the people who claimed to help them.
Act II - The Leap

She heard the real question underneath.
As her career in Rome grew, people began reaching out. First friends, then strangers. All asking the same thing: How did you actually get there? Is it safe? Who looks after you when something goes wrong? What do I do first, and who can I trust?
She recognized the question because she had lived it. She remembered what it felt like to want this deeply, with no one ahead of her who had walked the path. And she remembered the other side of it too: parents back home, awake at odd hours, quietly worrying about a child in a country they had never visited, in a language they did not speak, with no one they could call.
She had figured it out alone. And somewhere in the middle of all that, she made a quiet promise: no one who comes after her should have to. Not the student brave enough to go. And not the family at home who needs to know their child is safe, prepared, and looked after at every step.
Act III - The Founding
