The linked regulation treats a Poliba L-4 Design/Industrial Design degree as satisfying the curricular requirement. For other applicants, it lists L-4, L-9, L-17, L-23, LM-4, L-1, L-3, L-10, L-20, L-40 and L-37, or a suitable foreign qualification. These include design, industrial engineering, architecture/building fields, cultural heritage, arts, humanities, communication and specified social sciences. [1]

For other first-cycle qualifications, curricular suitability is assessed through the prior curriculum and the relevant interview. The reviewed admission section does not publish a universal minimum total of design subject credits. The academic review, not a fixed 30-, 60- or 90-credit rule, decides curricular suitability. The regulation describes review of the previous academic curriculum and a portfolio showing significant relevant study, research and professional work. The review focuses on design cultures, methods and practice; technological and engineering disciplines; and human, social, psychological and economic sciences. Current central guidance specifies self-certification for Italian qualifications and the prescribed certificates/translations for foreign ones. The detailed section gives 85/110 as the mark at which preparation is considered positive, with an individual interview otherwise. It also separately calls for a motivational interview for other admitted degree classes. For applicants outside the standard route, a high grade does not by itself remove the portfolio or interview review. The course’s assessment notice and commission decision set what is required. [1]

Curricular integrations and possible ranking

Any curricular integrations are assigned by the competent academic structure and may be completed through approved single courses at Poliba or other Italian universities. They must be completed before the personal-preparation check. Enrolment with outstanding curricular debts is not permitted. [1]

If applications exceed the permitted class size, the regulation provides a merit ranking using the degree mark and interview eligibility where required, with age as the tie criterion. English B2 and permitted alternatives

English of at least B2 is required. The programme regulation permits recognised certification or Language Centre certification. Without a certificate, the teaching commission may assess English through the previous academic career and, where needed, an interview. Native English speakers are exempt from producing the certificate and the English check under that provision. Application and 2026/27 administrative windows

Poliba requires the admission procedure before enrolment. Its 2026/27 guidance says applicants must already hold the first-cycle qualification and normally select one master’s programme. It separately describes a double preference for simultaneous enrolment in two Poliba master’s courses. In the standard procedure, we submit the application through Esse3 during an authorised window, and the university then issues its eligibility decision. [3]

The current central guidance requests valid identification and previous-career evidence. Italian qualifications use the prescribed self-certification forms. For a foreign qualification it requests the secondary-school certificate and first-cycle university qualification with examination list, with the specified Italian or English translations and legalisation. A passport is required for non-EU applicants residing abroad. Recognition and visa-related document checks remain separate from the course’s academic assessment. [3]

The published 2026/27 windows are 28 July to 15 September 2026; 1 to 15 October, November and December 2026; 5 to 20 January 2027; 1 to 15 February, March and April 2027; and 2 to 10 May 2027. The October window is open at this review date. Enrolment from 1 February 2027 requires part-time status under this guidance. What bachelor's degree do I need for Design for Cultural and Productive Context at Poliba?

I have a B.Tech or a BBA. Can I apply?

Possibly. The listed classes cover design, industrial engineering, architecture and building, cultural heritage, arts, humanities, communication and specified social sciences. A B.Tech in an industrial field sits closer to that list. A BBA sits outside it, so the review of your curriculum and portfolio decides. [1]
